Discoloring basement cargo doors

I have a 2012 3402rl 5th wheel. On both my basement cargo doors over the last couple years im getting discoloration and is getting worse. Like a brownish colour.
On line i see im not the only one that has this issue. just checking to see if anybody’s had any resolutions to these issues. I had a painter look at it and they said it would likely come back whatever is causing it.

Your issue appeared to some owners that bought in the 2011 - 2014 timeframe https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ght=cargo+door

Our doors are just as white as they were when new. The only possible cause that I can figure might be some who wax there rigs and maybe a reaction of chemicals in the wax. I might have waxed our rig twice since it was new, but never saw any benefit from doing it so just don't bother.

Suggest replacing the doors. Check with Trekwood for replacement door(s) https://www.trekwood.com/replacements/19012/Baggage.

The cargo doors are made somewhat similar to the sidewalls themselves just a bit thinner. They have a foam core bonded in-between a couple of layers of Filon (fiberglass) like skins. I do think it had something to do with moisture as when the discoloration did happen, it was most always toward the bottom few inches. The Filon skin was actually discolored and for me at least could not be buffed out. Wax??? maybe so or maybe not. Why would it not occur over the entire door? Why would the rest of the fiver side made from the same material not discolor?

Try some McGuires fiberglass color restorer. It works well at getting oxidation out and restoring color. Worth a try. Works great on boats. If that doesn’t work, new doors may be the only option. Good luck!
