Slide outs - How long is long
How long should the slideouts remain out... Should they be retracted back in when used for an extended period?

I read somewhere that if an extended period of non use of the unit is taking place that the slides should be used once a week. Don't know where I read it right off the top of my head. I think it was with the info I received with my 5th.

That is right. Montana recommends running the slides in and back out once a week to keep everything lubricated.

I have had my slides out now for almost 5 months. I use some dry lube on them before bringing them in for the trip home for winter. Have not had any trouble with the slides on either my Montana or Mountaineer RV's by leaving them out for the summer. (knock on wood) =)

It seems like they need to be exercised to keep them lubricated. Happyrving.....
