Using Window Insulation

Hi all. Input requested on how you keep the Foil backed insulation secured to you windows ? I tried velcro but its not working. The adhesive keeps melting off the glass

If you have to trim it down trim it just slightly to big so it will hold itself in place

We also cut ours just slightly larger than the window opening.

We usually just use scotch tape to the frame and pull the shade down. havent had any issues with them staying in place so far.
Our big issue is we have the front cap window that is impossible to copy the shape of with the reflectix. Still workin on this one

I use these - 100 for $21.
They work great on the Reflectix and on sunscreen I cut for windows.
Amazon sells something similar - on their site it’s call Suction Cup Sign Holders with Plastic Thumbtack.

There is a thread on the forum regarding the use of solar screens made to fit your windows. It’s a diy project but looks simple enough. They fit on the outside of the windows and reflect 90% of the heat. You cannot travel with them on but you don't loose your view out of the windows. It is nearly impossible to see into the RV from the outside except at night if you have all the lights on. In that case you can close your shades as there is not much to see at night anyway. Just do a search for solar screens. Problem with Reflectix or a film is they heat up your windows by reflecting heat back out your windows from inside, and you cannot look out your windows with Reflectix either. If your windows get too hot, they can crack. I have decided to do the solar screens and see how they do. They attach using an industrial velcro and word is they hold on your windows even in a good wind. We will find out. Just another option.

I much prefer cutting the sunscreen to fit our windows and suctioning it on as needed. I like it better than reflectix but have done both. Good luck.
