Dull trailer finish

We have a 2017 Legacy, which we use about 5 mo a year primarily in the SW and Baja Mexico. Every year I go over the finish with cleaners and waxes of high quality. Every year it gets harder because of the amount of oxidation. I know it's the sun causing this because we have solar panels and therefore face the same side to the south and that side is the worst for the oxidation and then the same side faces south in our storage spot on our property. The question is, is there a permanent treatment that can be added professionally to stop the oxidation and protect the trailer finish for a 5 yrs old trailer?

AFAIK, there is no "permanent" treatment for oxidation, however there are some that work much longer than others. A ceramic coating could provide several years of protection, but to get the best results would need to be applied by a professional.
I recently bought a buffer and ceramic system from Griots Garage for that very reason. The protection is supposed to last up to a year. I haven't had time to get that done yet, but I'll let you know how it goes. I plan to use it on both of our daily drivers too.

I have a ceramic coating on my truck. It’s warranted for 9 years. It’s been on for 2 years and still looks great. It was professionally installed. They had two grades a 5 year and 9 year grade. My truck stays cleaner than before but at $900 it would be very expensive for a camper. You can buy it but I understand it’s not the same grade.

I use a Dewalt Polisher with a wool pad... It takes the oxidation off and brings the shiny GelCoat back... For this reason I wish they made the sides and roof aluminum again....

I had a Duratain finsh put on mine that was guarantied for 5 years - lasted 10. made removing black streaks easy and kept finish very nice. I was pleased with the results. Not permanent but better than yearly work.

If it is gelcoat oxidation, this is the process I do on boats:
https://www.jjsboatservices.com/post...chalky-gelcoat

1. Wash and Remove Surface Dirt and Debris
2. Remove Stains
3. Wet/Dry Sanding - this is the key
4. Polishing Compound
5. Waxing and sealing with a protectant

Try a small area first.

The only semi permanent solution is clearcoat. Another option, covered storage. Compounding brings the original look back, but you are limited on how many times you can do that. For many years I waxed and buffed every three or four months, and that held up pretty well, but I just dont worry about it anymore.
