Pet sitters at the rally
I don't know if this is the correct forum but...
I'm sure a lot of people will have their fur babies with them at the rally. I know we will. I was wondering if there might be teenagers or older persons
that would like to make some money by pet sitting. We would love to have someone that could care for our babies while we are out and about. Or a drop-in doggie day care.
If there is no such thing, how do others handle their pets while they are away?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Terri

We have cats, so we have a feeder and waterer and if necessary add an extra cat pan. A friend with a dog, leaves a pet pad for her dog to use the bathroom on.

We take turns checking in on our two dogs. We change it up with walks, playtime, and hanging out a bit. We try to tucker them out before things start happening. This year we will be extra busy around the grounds; being one of the assistant wagon masters. We are so lucky they are great travelers, love playing with their toys, don’t mind hanging out, and watching tv.
Keep an eye out for the Pet Parade Post. Right now, the coordinator is looking for judges, but more information will be coming out soon.
Gabby, Dusty, and I will see you at the rally.

I like to walk and would love to bring a dog along if one needs some exercise as our cat just doesn't seem to like that activity. PM me if you need a dog walker!

We euthanize our cats then buy new ones when we return. I also have a bridge in NY and one in CA for sale.
Actually, our cat is too much of an outdoor cat so home with parents or it would be off to the kennel for the trip. If she was more indoor we would bring her and not worry about it, cats are independent. Dogs are different. Would have to swing buy two or three times during the day.

I would say round up some boy scouts or girl scouts for the weekend. During the week they would probably be in school.

I don't think you will find pet sitters necessary. Sessions are right on the fair grounds and when you are gone for an activity, it is not a long period of time. Most of us go between sessions to give a potty break. You are really "in and out" quite a bit. There is a fenced area next adjacent to where many of the RV's are parked that you can use to exercise them.
If you feel the need, you might check care.com and sign up with them. (Note: this is not just for pets, so don't be surprised when it also lists child care). You can find pet sitters there by location and perhaps they would do dog walking only.

Terri, If you don't find anyone let me know, I have a couple of friends in the area I can touch base with. One that might have/know teenagers that could help you out. Send me a PM and I will reach out to them if needed.
Thanks,
Sheila
