Air Bags
I have a new 2020 Chevy 3/4 long bed SRW and when I connect to my rig it squats the truck about 3 inches but surprisingly that sits the truck level with the RV with a slight, 1/4 bubble or less high in the front.
I'm considering air bags and talk to one shop that said they didn't think the firestone kits would fit that vehicle and they recommended the Airlift brand.
I've always ran the Firestones and have not experience with Airlift so I'm looking for advice or recommendations.
I will hit the internet asap but know I can get good info and advice from this forum.
Thanks for your help

I have airlift on my Ford. Great company in Lansing Mi. Never had any issues except for a leaking air line about 5 years after they were installed. Called them looking for a part number and how to order it and they just sent me one for free.

I have had Firestone and Air Lift and prefer the Air Lift because they just look like better quality. I had a bag on the Firestones develop a leak after about 2 years and have had no problems with the Air Lifts after 6 years.

I have the airlift ultimate + with on board air compressor so you can change the air pressure on the fly and been using for over 2 years now and the customer service is great.

My vote is for AirLift
I have had both. Prefer AirLift. You can't beat their customer service/support IMHO.

I have only had AirLift, so can not compare the two. They were on my previous TV and never had an issue.

We have Helwig on ours with onboard air. 7 inch with no complaints, only praise for the ride quality.

last set of firestones I had developed a leak but after 4 years so I wasn't to disappointed but based on experiences here and a little research I ordered Airlift today. Didn't order the onboard compressor as I've never had a situation where I thought that would be handy. who know might change my mind one of these days.
Thanks for the replies.

I also ordered airlift, bags with the onboard compressor. should be here this week or early next week, then.... install time.
I have had the Firestone bags with no onboard compressor, never had a problem with them. last truck I went with sumo springs, easy install but the empty ride was rougher, loaded with the trailer they were great.

I installed Air Lift ultimate without onboard compressor on my F-250 srw last weekend, haven't pulled fifth wheel yet, but but with 10 psi in bags the truck rides a little better.
Good luck installing yours, the instructions are not the best. I recommend raising the truck as high as you can get jack stands under before lowering rear end all the way down.
Just my experience. A buddy with a vehicle lift would be priceless!!

Firestone has a set of bags just for your truck. They actually are easy to install. Lift truck where you can pop out the rubber cushion over loads and the bags has u bolts that bolt right on where the cushions came out.

I put the same components on my truck. Very happy with them. I like being able to adjust the air pressure on-the-fly. Mounted the air compressor right above the spare tire.

I use the Air Lift brand. I have run them for 10 years now on several different tow vehicles. Easy to install and they do the job. I would have a hard time trying another brand after living the performance of these ones.
The only thing I would, and will do, on any future ones, is the onboard compressor. It seems pricey at first, but in the long run the benefits of the convenience I believe would be worth it.

Hi All,
I have only run airlift. Never had a problem with them. They are easy to service and if you do have a problem their are dealers all over the country to help you out.

I highly recommend checking out Timbrens. They do not change the ride when not loaded but can handle the heavy load. I have been running them since 2015. They fixed the squat and made interstate driving much better.

Airlift
I recently traded my 2017 GMC 3/4 ton that I had Airlift bags put on. They made a tremendous difference. I could level the truck once trailer was on board and with the compressor it kept them at pressure all the time. BUT the biggest help was in they stopped the bounce I would get when starting & stopping or those bumps in the road that used to drive me nuts. Just today I was chatting with airlift about getting the same setup on my new truck. No experience with other brands but I know I liked the airlift. Good luck with whatever you choose

Been running Airlift 5000 setup on my 2007 GMC since day one... levels rig out nicely and run about 20 psi when not towing. Smooth ride...
The Firestone setup would also do quite nicely.
