Level Up Hydraulic Pump Breaker

Good Afternoon. New member of about two weeks, and I have already found this forum very helpful. We have a "new to us" 2016 3000re that we just took on a couple day shakedown cruise. Everything went well until we were back at storage area and ready to unhook. Since I am new to the Level Up system, I had my directions in front of me and following them closely. Unfortunately, landing gear would not extend. Could hear the solenoid click, got in battery / hydraulic compartment and checked fuses which appeared all OK. Saw on quick internet search that it was probably the circuit breaker. Man, I got about half of my tiny(?) frame in that compartment and looked everywhere, but could not find anything that looks like a circuit breaker. Tow vehicle still hooked up...any suggestions on where to look would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

There are two re-settable circuit breakers mounted on the back wall of the front compartment.. Each is covered by a red plastic cap. Do a "Search" on "circuit breaker and ypou will find lots more information. Here is one of the latest Threads with lots of pictures.

Thank you. Saw the two items covered in red plastic that looked like connection posts to me. Will go back in the morning and investigate further. Appreciate the info.

Thanks, yep did do that and it was all good. If indeed it is the circuit breaker, I wasn't able to find or identify anything that looked like a CB.

Those are the resettable breakers your looking for, the one with the cable going to the hydrolic pump is the one I replaced with an 80 amp on my 3120rl

It could be your 50A self resetting circuit breaker. You need to separate the hydraulic system from the rest, on it's own 80A breaker.

80A circuit breaker

Affinity installed the 80A one in the picture (under warranty). If you follow the fat red wire from the battery box (bottom right) it goes to the first breaker left post. Then you have a short 3" jumper to the 2nd breakers right post. On this post they tied in the 80A breaker that goes to the hydraulic motor dual polarity solenoid.
So electrically speaking, the 80A is tied to the battery + post. By doing this they placed the hydraulic system on its own circuit breaker without changing anything else.
No need to actually replace the existing 50A one. Just put a short 4 gauge jumper from the + side (battery feed side) of the existing 50A breaker to the 80A one then put the cable from the hydraulic pump dual polarity solenoid to the other side of the 80A breaker.

Okay. Got up here and took a look. There are two,what I believe to be, circuit breakers. See pic. Apparently not manual reset as there is no button of any kind. Level up is not working, so they apparently have not reset themselves automatically. Should I just replace them?

You say the landing legs don't work. How about the slides. First check to see if there s 12V power to BOTH sides of the left self-resetting CB. They normally don't fail completely. Usually they trip and self-reset repeatedly first.

Well, today with some experienced RV friends I pulled what was finally identified as the circuit breaker. When removed, the part actually rattled as if there was a loose part inside. Once replaced, the landing gear worked fine. I am now researching the 50amp to 80 switch before I order a couple of spares. Thank you everyone on MOC for your advice.

Contact LCI and order two 80 amp fuses, that will take care of your problem. As you have read most people have replaced them with 80 amp breaker. If you need any help give me a call you buddy Jimbo.

I thought I read where the landing gear breaker needed replacing but the other one doesn't have to be replaced. I may have even seen where you shouldn't replace it, since the things it is protecting should only be using < 40 amp.

I replaced my breaker that goes to the pump motor in 2013, right after Lippert identifier there was a problem with the 40 or 50 amp breakers. Ours was a 40 amp one. I still have that same 80 amp breaker installed and have not needed to replace it. You definitely will not need extra spares, unless you want them for replacing breakers on someone else’s rig.
