Brian_S,
Please do come back after you meet with your dealer and let us know what they said.
If it really is a "DUH! I am so stupid!" moment, that's OK.... believe me, I've had those moments only too many times with all my campers and especially the one I have now.

2022 Montana HC Overflow and no gravity fill
We just made our first trip on our 2022. At the visitor center we filled the fresh tank 2/3 full. We drove the short distance to our campsite. When I got out to direct my husband in backing in and noticed water coming out. In that short distance the tank went from 2/3 full to registering empty. I assumed we had a bad tank, but once we were parked no additional leaked out. This led me to research when we got home. Sounds like the 2021 had a vent and overflow as bd people were putting a plug in while driving. To me it is insane that they removed this. Do they know how people camp? We never camp with hook ups and often have to fill from home. Now our water will all be gone before we get there and then we can’t even gravity fill. Honestly would not have thought to ask this before purchasing and it would have been a deal breaker if we had known. So frustrating!!!

Check the fresh water tank drain valve to make sure it is completely closed. We just picked up our 2022 281ck last Wednesday and all the valves were somewhat open.

The valve was closed. But thanks, wish it was that easy. Just spoke to dealer said we should locate the overflow under camper and rig up a hose with an easily reachable valve to close it when driving. Can you imagine if vehicle manufacturers were like this??

Lorie,
There is little similar between an auto and RV manufacturer or dealer. You need to be much more self sufficient with a RV.
There are some decent ways to refill your water tank if you search the forum. I use a water pillow and an electric pump.

I know. But RV dealers should step it up! I basically have a worthless 87 gallon tank. For the money paid we shouldn’t have to come up with a work around for something that is included.

Well I found out where my overflow is. NOT where it should be. I guess the tech responsible for plumbing the overflow was out sick that day....water pouring out of the belly....

I put a garden hose valve on the freshwater tank drain hose.
You could use the freshwater drain to fill your tank.

It’s in the back on the drivers side behind the jack but under the slide. Not easy to get to but at least it works

WOW!!
I can see how you would loose most of your freshwater while driving. Just going down the road and making a right hand turn, most of it will slosh out.

I just left the dealer. Mine is in for a laundry list of stuff one being the fresh water overflow. The tech noted "not all have them. No problem found" I updated their notes! Dam you would think since he's paid by the hour he would just fix it...... It's a good thing I work 3 minuets from the dealership. I just stop in and punch in.
