Using Freezer as Refrigerator?

I have a Norcold (2010?) refrigerator/freezer in my 2011 Montana Mountaineer.

I would like to use the top freezer section as a refrigerator (i.e. I don't want anything to freeze in it).

Do I just set the freezer temperature to the warmest setting, or is there something else I need to do to make it the same temperature as the lower refrigerator?

I have a separate chest freezer that I'll use for freezing food.

Thanks

Scott-- As far as I know there are not separate temperature settings for your Norcold frig. I may be wrong, but any RV refrigerator that I have seen only has the one set of controls for the refrigerator/freezer. If you find out differently, please post this and if possible show a photo of your unit controls.

Thanks for the reply.

My Norcold has settings 1-5 but I think as you're saying, this applies to both the fridge and the freezer, not separately. I thought maybe this only applied to the freezer, but now I think not.

Per Dave Forest with RV cooling warehouse the freezer is designed to freeze based on the size of the cooling plate attached to the back of the freezer at the coldest end of the refrigerator cooling coil. The warmest setting will always cool the freezer compartment below 32 degrees. The refrigerator compartment is designed to be 32 to 35 degrees above the freezer setting. As an example my Dometic frige set on 4 keeps the freezer around 4 degrees and the fridge around 36 until you start opening and closing the door.
If interested you might give Dave a call. He is very knowlegeable and more than willing to share info. https://rvcoolingunit.com/
If you find something different please post. Inquiring minds you know!!!
