Inventor of the Zerk fitting

I got this email today from LockNLube, advertising their products, but also had this in the email. Thought it was interesting to share.

Lock and Lube is a must have, having John Deere, and equipment, many places to grease. Interesting Zerk story.

The zerk fitting is far more complex inside than the outside would lead you to think.

I have this one. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...0629_200320629 I used to have a SnoCat with 60+ grease fittings; I got tired of doing that by hand real quick.

Bob, like the way we hijacked your thread?

This initiated some good information. I never thought Zerk was someone’s name, so I found that interesting too.

Thanks Bob & Becky for the back story of the Zerk fitting. For anyone interested in more of Oscar (Oskar Zerkowitz) Zerk, here is a link. The home Zerk bought and had remodeled in Kenosha, he named Dunmovin. Not sure if it literally meant he was done moving, but Zerk never did change residences after that. Zerk wouldn't have been much of a fan of the "Montana" lifestyle I'm guessing.

Interesting and thanks for sharing. Who would have "thunk" it?
