I have a Rec Tec pellet grill and it is awesome. Rec Tec is the best company you will ever do business with. Great grills, recipes, customer service.

Wow, I had a Weber Q1200, and put it under the house after using it once. I wanted to connect directly to my Propane tanks on the RV, rather than dealing with all of those throw away little canisters that run out at exactly the wrong time, so I bought a RV BBQ that plugs right into the propane quick disconnect that I had installed on my Montana, and came standard with the SOB I have now. I kept the Q1200 stand, and just put this portable BBQ right on the stand rather than mounting it to the side of the RV. It has legs, but most RV parks don't want you putting your BBQ on their picnic tables. I love just plugging into my propane supply and I'm off and running, never to run out of propane again. Just a note, this is a "NON"-Regulated propane BBQ, because your supply from the propane tanks will be regulated, and if you use a standard propane BBQ like the Weber, it has a regulator on it, and it will not fire up correctly being regulated twice. SO you have to do a search for non-regulated gas BBQ's. Here is the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I purchased a Coleman portable grill back in 2008 when I first started trailering. Love it. I just purchased a new Montana so I will be looking at these again. New trailer, new grill

Treager Grill

I have a Ranger and it works great. Costs about 100.00 more than a scout but it's worth the money.

When I bought my camper in 2014 I bought a Colman NXT 200 grill. I had it replaced once under warranty because of a faulty regulator. It was a good grill but it had trouble in slightly windy conditions. It wouldn't get up to temp and I had to shield it from the wind.
It also was a pain to clean and put away. Especially if I use the griddle top accessories that I bought to make breakfast. The bacon grease would run all over the grill, knobs and down the legs.
I got tied of the grill and recently switch to a Blackstone 22" griddle and never looked back. I know it's not a BBQ but it is a lot more versatile than a grill. There is almost nothing you can't cook on it. There is no reason to use the stove in the camper anymore , too cook side items, while grilling. It can all be done on the griddle. My breakfast menu is now unlimited. I can have my eggs anyway I like, pancakes, bacon, hash browns, sausage, etc. I toast all my breads on it. I slap some butter on bread or english muffins and throw them right on the griddle. They cook a lot faster than a toaster and come out evenly toasted. Steaks with grilled onions and mushrooms. The griddle does it all. Clean up is a breeze. It's a cold rolled steel top. You just wipe or scrape it off and wipe a light coating oil cooking oil on it and you're done.
I will not use a BBQ grill while camping anymore...

^^^While agree on how great the Blackstone is, I can't say they take the place of any bbq grill...gas or electric. I have 2 Blackstones and gave one to my son so I really like them...for what they do. I like the way a bbq grill, gas or charcoal, flavors certain things. A Blackstone can't do it. But they are great at what they do as I said.

I've used a Weber 22 inch grill for my "Good" cooking/smoking because I can remove the legs, turn the top upside down, and carry it in the bed of my truck. I have a "usable" gas grill for fast cooking, with a cast iron griddle/searing pan for steaks, chops, burgers and brats.

My apologizes to the OP, I know this question is kind of off topic, but is anyone out there familiar with a Smokin Tex BBQ Electric Smoker 1100? Happy with my grill but would like a small smoker to take on the road. I've looked at the GMG Davey Crocket.

Love our Weber Q series. We have a smaller one for RVing and little larger at home. Live them both. If you are looking for smoking charcoal grills consider the Pit Barrel Cooker and Pit Barrel Jr. https://pitbarrelcooker.com/?sscid=71k4_m6kpc. We also own these and they are amazing. Developed by a friend of our son.

We also camped next to a TX guy in Cripple Creek who had the GMG, wonder if he was same guy. Ordered the Green Mountain Davy Crockett online last year and cannot fault it really. The book that comes with it is outstanding. Needs maintenance in order to perform well like anything else. Used at home (until I got a Rec Tec recently) and in camp for everything from salmon to ribs. I keep mine out of the weather for sure. Have a cheap/tiny propane grill too for when I am in a hurry.

Last fall on the way back from Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast we found a Pit Boss Tailgater Pellet grill that folds up quite nicely and easily fits in the main storage on the side under our bedroom. I can load and unload it myself as it isn’t to heavy but it is nice to have the wife hold the handle on one end and then I get the other end. Hopper holds five lbs of pellets and it will easily hit around 500 degrees temperature. You have the option of open flame or slide the heat deflector closed for no flames like a Traeger smoker. I have two other Traegers but did not really like their Tailgater models. The Pit Boss will smoke or sear depending how you set it up.
Everyone has an opinion on what is good. I wanted something that would be small enough to haul around and also cook anything that I would want to eat while camping. This fit the bill for me.

Happy and safe roads to you.

Tom Marty
