AC leaking
Rained hard for about 12 hours yesterday, and we noticed a small leak coming thru the air conditioner return air vent of our 2020 294RL. It's a whisper quiet model with heat pump and the leak is only coming thru the curb side vent. I suspect the AC seal is the culprit but have not gone up on the roof to check yet. Because of the long lead-time for dealer repairs I'm wondering has anyone ran a bead of caulk around their AC seal, bonding it to the roof. Any cons with doing this?

I'm not sure about the caulking. However, i would first go up on the roof and take the shroud off the AC and check that the condensate drains are not plugged up. Then go inside the trailer and check that the four mounting bolts have not loosened up. I've heard they should be snugged up then about half a turn more. Over-tightening may be as bad as under-tightening. hope this may help.

If I’m not mistaken, the A/C units on the newer models are mounted differently than the older ones. I think they are secured with bolts from the top.

Exactly, lugs screwed directly into the roof.

We had that with our 2020 MHC 381TH. It was the drains in the AC unit.

Our 2020RD had the same issue - mobile RV tech with 30 years experience, came out - pulled each lag screw, shot DICOR in hole and re-torqued. then covered head of lag screw with DICOR caulk - no more issues. Did have another occurrence where condensate drain was plugged with construction debris - this cause blowing out ducts.

I think your problem is not the AC to roof seal, rather it's what's described in an old thread entitled "Major Roof Repair on 2016 - Input Please."
