California Hwy 1

We are thinking of driving highway 1 up the California coast (no RV this time). Does anyone have a recommendation for a descent hotel(s) between Moro bay and the SF bay area? We are looking to spend 2-3 days.

Scott: There are lots of things to see and places to stay along the way. Are you planning to stop and start or go to a central point and sight-see from there?

I love the Morro bay area but I have my RV there. I highly recommend Monterey as another central point to explore from. Lots to see and great food to boot. I have stayed at the Portola Hotel and Spa at Monterey Bay. Centrally located, you can walk to most of the water front attractions.

The Lodge at Pebble Beach is nice. Also, if you get hungry near Big Sur, Nepenthe is a go to spot.
