The old Goosebox I had was on my 2005 Montana Big Sky. No issues so far in many years since with my Star Performance Gooseneck Adapter but my front frame was rebuilt MUCH Stronger after it broke while towing the Goosebox...

I know this is an older thread, but can you (or anyone else who has installed the goose box) please put a picture of how and where you mounted the wiring box onto the new goose box?

My original hitch had the box installed on the inside on a flat place, and there's a perfect spot in the goose box but if I drill/screw into it I know it goes in the direction of the airbag and I don't want to get anywhere near that.

Thanks

Awesome, thanks. That's where I was thinking of putting it but wanted to be sure it worked for others before I start drilling.

This is what I did

Here is a pic. I mounted it to the rear plate of the goosebox.

Joined the club!

Just ordered a Gen 3 Goosebox, safety chains and spacers to fit 12 ½" wing opening. Now the wait begins.

Mike,

The trailer sits 1.5 inches higher in front?

Did you install the goosebox in the same bolt holes as the kingpin? I am working on getting the trailer lower in front. I have changed the configuration of the truck to be 2 inches lower in the rear. Now the truck rear sits level with front. I certainly do not want to install the goosebox multiple times if I do not have to...

Many thanks!

As i recall when i installed my goosebox, there were two different bolt patterns with different heights. I installed mine so that i have about 9" of clearance between the bottom of the trailer and the truck bed rail. It is important that you keep at least a minimum of 7" clearance. If you have any tight unlevel turns you can damage the truck and the trailer.

Just joined the GB club this week. Maiden trip up to Norman OK today to have disc brakes install by PBT tomorrow. Looking forward to pulling out this morning and seeing just how much of a difference the GB makes.

Congrats Lee-Ci. Once you get use to hooking up to it, you'll absolutely love the ride. I use those magnetized telescoping yellow balls to help me line up the Goosebox to my hitch ball.
