3400 Toilet

Our Dometic/Sealand 210 has never held water as it should. Finally called them today...the lady asked how old it is, told her 'new.' She said they had some 'issues' with this toilet and was going to mail me a kit that would solve the problem.

The serial # is on the front under the plastic cover, which can be pulled off (straight forward), there is only a small piece of velcro holding it. Their #: 800-321-9886

Thanks, Bert and Betty, hope that fixes it.
Qurestion; are you susposed to lube the rubber seal? If so, how and what? Let us know how the changeout goes.

They do not mention lubing the seal.

They may not mention but ours was also not holding water when we took delivery.
Turn off your water supply
Empty the bowl
Make sure there is nothing on the rubber seal
Wipe seal dry with a paper towel
Rub petroleum jelly (vaseline)around seal
After we did this our toilet works fine. Has been 15 months and have never had to lube again.

Finally got around to putting on the new seals...they work as advertised. The kit is free and also includes a new spring cartridge.

Can I ask a delicate question.

Is the 3400RL Comfort station normal sized or hang over the cliff trying not to fall off size ?

We also did this with our 2955RL and never had no more problems with it holding water.

Hi Bert,

I called Sealand today with the same problem and must have spoken to the same lady, at least I got the exact same response. We also have an issue with the valve noise. I will post about this as a separate thread.

It is residential size and style, except the flusher is a foot pedal. We even replaced the lid with a residential toilet lid. Fits perfectly and is much nicer.

Bert, I just replaced mine as well. Our toilet has never held water so I have a question for you. Now when we flush an air bubble actually comes up from the bottom when you open the slider and sorta causes a splash in the bowl before the contents empties, have you experienced this?
Rick.

Ours does that when the tank gets full, (that is our level gauge!). If this is happening when you know the tank is not full, it may be that your vent pipe to the roof is plugged.

Nope.

After flushing, and the pedal is released, the water continues to run long enough to put about 2" in the bowl.
