Help, need new tires!
We've had our 2005 Montana Mountaineer 318BH for (3) years now and the time has come for new tires. It currently has Uniroyal LT 235/85 R16 120/1160 M+8, and, like most other tires out there, the side walls have crack before the tread even came close to wearing out.
Any suggestions on brands/tread design, etc?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Do you really have CRACKS in the sidewall or just a bit of "the best I can describe ... crazing" just above the bead? If it's just "crazing" ... get some tire dealers opinions before you spend the dough. My 05 Montana had the same tires straight from the factory as you have. They served me well and did have a bit of "crazing" in 2010 when I traded it.

If your tires are original equipment you are right to think about replacing them. Tires used for trailers should be replaced at about 7 years and any good LT tires rated for your weight should be fine.

Hey all you responders, you're the best!! Thanks for all of your input.
DieselGuy, my tires were manufactured in 2/2009, according to the DOT number. I am pretty sure that they are cracks, but I will have my local tire dealer take a look at them....and to answer the question that I know is going through everybody's minds, yes, I do keep them covered when the rig is not being used. ;~)
