Anybody replace their Jenson TV

You'd think with the cost of these rigs they and other manufacturers would put a smart TV in. I hate the entire Jenson setup. My Montana has the motorized setup that has a desk. I bought a new 50" smart TV that I plan on installing this next week. The cost through Best Buy was a very reasonable $269.00. I also went with a Polk soundbar & wireless sub, and a separate blue-ray player.

Replaced the small one in the bedroom, it was defective from day one. Will wait until the large one goes bad before we change it, the picture is not bad. We hooked up Blu-ray players to both tv's and use a Bose speaker for the bedroom.

We have 2 Furrion TV's. Both seem to work OK. Added bluRay in the living area and am adding a sound bar and small bass bin. That way I can totally bypass the lame Furrion DVD/sound system.

Dang it, if I'm going to rough it it's going to be with a decent DVD watching experience...

A truer word was never spoken. As soon as I got this trailer home in March I knew the sound system was SO terrible. Tried to fix it by cutting out the gimmicky Furrion speakers and replacing with JBL. Worked better but the Furrion receiver is junk - so is the TV. Bought a Polk sound bar with wireless sub from Best Buy and already had a Sony BluRay wifi player. Connected those to the HDMI ports of the TV and now I've got great sound (for an RV). I lost the ability for radio stations which I don't use nor the outside speakers so the Furrion receiver sits hidden back there....never to be seen again...

I have an extended warranty that covers my TV's. If we were to replace them do you void your warranty in any way? Also, what kind of TV can you buy that will take traveling down the road?

If you are changing out TVs, take a look at Vizios. Our MHC came with one in the LR. The useless 18" 12VDC in the BR was then changed to one as well. a 26" 120VAC unit. So far, these two have been great and have traveled many miles. I do take the one in the BR off the wall bracket when we travel as it weighs quite a bit more

Samsung 4k tv and sound bar with wireless surround sound speakers for the back. Works great.

Found out on our 2010 that if you have the TV lift and buy a TV that will just barely fit in the hole, getting it lined up properly is a booger but eventually can be done.

Put in the new TV, which went really well. What I didn't like was how these things are wired. Wires just dangling everywhere, just a big sloppy mess from the manufacturer. If you've ever owned a boat, the wiring and harnesses are surgically clean and made to take a beating and stay in place. I think trailer builders forget these things take a beating bouncing down the road. When it came time to remove the Jenson TV from the motorized lift, I found all 4 screws which hold the main bracket to the back of the TV all loose. It was literally one road trip away from the TV coming undone.

We replaced the living room 32” with a 40” Polaroid tv. I didn’t want an expensive tv due to movement when traveling. We replaced the 19” in the Bunkhouse with a 32” both fit in the holes tv edges have changed since they got thinner. Due to our set up we are planning on putting in projector TVs in the living room and master. We can go from a 19” to 60” in the bedroom and 40” to 100” in the living room as well as set up outside during special events.

What’s wrong with Jensen,

I was going to buy a Jensen because they are 12 volt so I’m able to use my tv while dry camping. Are they that bad?

They aren’t the best But they work. we have a 2012 and the previous owners lived full time in it as well. So they are worn out

If there’s anything that says “roughing it,” it’s an RV.

The audio & video gear in most RVs leaves a lot to be desired.
Then they throw in "networking" on some new models and that usually means a crappy WiFi router is included.
I've heard the claim they use Jensen because they are designed to be mobile so they are more durable, but I have my doubts about that.

We had a small Jensen 12 volt in the bedroom and just replaced it with a larger Jensen that has more connections for Fire sticks and such. The only down side to the Jensen that we have noticed is whatever remote control system they use, it is not compatible with the Dish remote controls, so we have to use the Jensen remote along with the Dish remote.

Got to agree with the vizio's, have them in house as well as our 3000rk. I went with the Vizio sound bar also. I just wish the TV stations would cut back on background noise and push voices. Good Luck and Happy Camping.

I've owned 4 VIZIO TVs. While I liked the TVs, I wasn't impressed with VIZIO's customer service. One of their smart TVs refused to update over my 3G connection. There was no option to download the updates and install them via USB.
Customer service's attitude was sort of too bad, is there anything else I can help you with.
