Convenience center battery key orientation

2019 Montana 331RL. What is the correct orientation for the battery key in the convenience center? Is the wide part of the key vertical and on the top? Perhaps send a picture showing the correct position.

Thanks,

John and Heidi in NC

When the key is positioned where it can not be removed the battery bank is connected to provide 12 volt power to the rig. When the key is turned and can be removed many of the 12 volt systems but not all are disconnected. Because everything is not disconnected the batteries will discharge in storage with the key in this position.

I personally always keep the switch turned where the key can not be removed all the time and installed a full battery disconnect in the front compartment.

Thank you. I have colored the top of the red paddle part of ‘the key’ black to know the correct orientation.

The labels on the disconnect switch should have been labelled connected for the 'ON' position and disconnected for the 'OFF' position, and then there would be no question about what position does what.

I have ALWAYS left mine in the ON position.
I installed a separate battery disconnect switch at the positive post of the batteries since this disconnect switch does NOT Disconnect everything.

Ignore the word "Disconnect".
Just read it as "BATTERY ON" "BATTERY OFF"

Position shown below is "BATTERY ON"

It's really strange that our key points in the opposite direction, the large end is what points to the operating position.

Turn until it’s locked and can’t come out
