Anyone have issues with the closet clothes hanging rod pulling loose from the mounts. The two support brackets in the middle of the bar pulled loose during my travels and I noticed that the brackets are only screwed into the thin paneling along the top ceiling of the closet.

Yes, during a long trip last summer the rod and all clothing came down. You're right, it's not built very robustly. Ours is shut up for the winter so might not be able to get pics but I found it to be a fairly easy repair.

I went to the local hardware store and bought some flat brackets. The shelf in ours is well attached to the walls so I was able to use the brackets underneath to secure the rod attachments in the middle of the shelf directly to the shelf framing. It's now quite solid and not likely to come down again.

After replacing every rod on every trailer we ever owned we told the dealer we wouldn't buy the 2017 until they corrected that. They added two more supports tied into the aluminum frame and it's still up 200K miles later.

The issue is that the factory bar is flimsy so bends too much in the middle and pulls the lightweight supports out. I bought a metal rod from HD, and 2 of their round metal wall brackets on each end. The key with the new solution is that the bar does not sag so is supported on the ends, with little to no pull on the middle supports. (I put them back just in case and they have stayed put)
It has worked perfectly for over 10,000 miles so far, and my wife and I are not light packers. (we live in our Montana about 5-6 months of the year)

Yes, we had the dreaded closet rod caper. That assembly was engineered by a preschooler. After repairing it, we've learned not to put to much on it while traveling.

I did as kowbra did. I think it was a metal pipe with those U shaped metal things on the wall that the pipe drops into. Not flimsy pipe or ends but real pipe stuff.

Yup. To be clear, ours was a black closet rod, but it was the heaviest duty metal one I could find at HD. The factory one I could have bent in half with my hands without much effort.

I needed a quick fix so I grabbed a piece of pvc pipe (think it was 2"). Measured from the floor of the closet to just above where the bar should be if their weren't any weight on it. I cut the pvc that length and then notched one end so that the rod would fit in it. Put the other end on the floor and tapped it with a hammer until the pipe was square and level in the middle of the closet.
The weight of the clothes keeps the pvc from moving around.

On our 373RD the closet door track was pulling out of the ceiling. Nothing to support it in the ceiling. Finally came up with a fix - got 1/2"x6" 36" oak and put above the door track. supported on both ends and added hollow wall anchors along the boards to the ceiling.

My plastic brackets broke and I bought these on Amazon. They fit the original rod which seemed adequate in my rig.

I put in an expandable shower curtain rod; held top with zip ties and bottom with painters tape as a temp fix until I complete permeant fix. My bottom will be like Champs from linked thread above. Center I bought a wooden coat hanger rod I will cut to length. Still working on to connection. Could drill hole in my vertical rod and zip tie, but I really want it adjustable -- to ensure its perfect. I'll keep pondering.

My problem is It will never go to my house with shop and all the tools, so limited on fancy options!!!

Here is my final solution with no real tools. Hand Saw and self tapping screws by hand with phillips head.
Wood hanger rod, 1 hanger rod end, and some PVC.

I have a 2022 3231CK that had one support in the middle. That support was screwed into the paneling and pulled the screws loose upon first travel. As far as I can tell, it was screwed into nothing substantial enough to carry any weight. This was very poorly designed.

Yes, I agree; as installed with the lightweight bar and supports with a single screw into the thin paneling - will not stand up. We had the same experience as you did.

As to solutions? To me, all of the ideas to add bracing are overly complicated. The far simpler and more elegant solution is to install a heavier bar with heavier metal attachments on the sides. It has worked perfectly for us, and we have the closet fully loaded with clothes for extended living (and we put on about 7-10k miles per year).
