Installed a new Vista Shade

For those wanting to install one or these, I thought I'd include some info, which might make it easier for some when ordering one. My 2019 Montana came with a 17' electric awning. The awning size I went with was 15' wide, 2' attachment portion, and then an 8' piece that zippers in for a total of 10' of shade. Anything wider than 15' would have been too wide. It easily slid into the factory awning roller from the left hand side as you face your trailer. It includes two velcro self adhesive squares, which keep the Vista Shade secured to the roller. I included a few photos with my awning dropped down to its lowest position and then at normal height. The Vista Shade came with stakes and line to secure it to the ground. The price was $169.00.

That looks great.
We are planning on adding one to ours next winter.
Our awning is 21 feet wide.
Where did you get the shade?

I got 1 with a 5' drop and a 6' add so I could zip on the add w/o a ladder. I can't get over how high these awning are! I leave the 5' on while staying at CG but take it off to travel any distance. I canned the stakes it came with and got small augers used for dog leads and such. Use an 8' one piece shade on the rear awning, also remove it for travel but roll it w/ awning if staying for more than a day or two.

I bought directly from Shade Pro, and it arrived in a couple of days. Their price was the same as on Amazon.

We love ours! And, when the storms are approaching, a quick unzip is all thats needed. IMHO this design with the 2 foot section that permanently attaches is much better than ones you need to attach and detach each time, with a ladder and an assistant!

Attached screen on our awning

Carefree 701707ACD Black 17' x 7' Drop RV Awning EZ Zip Blocker

We got ours from Amazon - Love it! This one is made and shipped from the USA - that impressed us since usually they are made in China.

But if you have to return it (as I did) it cost like $45 to ship it back. Amazon would have been free I assume since we’re prime
