Dometic thermostat E1 code

Our Dometic thermostat (+/- 3” square black box type) in the rear of our 2019 3021RL is throwing the E1 error code. If I am reading correctly, that indicates a communication error which shuts down (yes it did) the unit. Called the local mobile service man we have used here in Oshkosh and he said it needed a new freeze sensor. I just replaced it this morning but no love here. Also when I originally looked at the circuit board I replaced one connector which had obviously overheated. It went to a starting condenser (I presume) which was part of a (once again I am presuming) soft start system.

Any suggestions from the brilliant minds here to get my ac system running before I can get a repairman here?

As always, thanks in advance for your assistance!

Dometic trouble shooting guide…

E1 Error Code: What Does It Mean and How to Fix

An E1 error code could mean the Dometic thermostat has lost connection to one or more of the power circuit panels. To clear this error, try the following workarounds:

Reset the thermostat Dometic thermostat. Check to see if it works.
Reset the Dometic power fuse. If this does not resolve the problem, proceed to the next step.
Switch off and on the main power circuit breakers.
If none of the above steps clear the error, you should have an AC specialist check on it.

Since you have the E1 error it means the LCD CT digital, thermostat can’t see and talk to the AC control module

I would check the wires on the thermostat, the gateway and the control box and reseat connections

If you have some basic electrical skill sets you can TS and fix this problem without paying some mobile tech

Mike,
Thanks for your help! Got it working after replacing the board and then discovering a bad connection where the professional “Rv repairman” had been working on replacing a starting capacitor!
Y’all stay cool in that Texas heat!

Glad you got it fixed! I just read your PMs...even if I had seen them when you sent them I don't think I would be any help. Unfortunately I can not spell HCVA or VACH or just plain air conditionin'. All I know is - push the button and it works. I would be in the same boat as you.
