This might apply if your planning to convert to gooseneck? My close friend had his dealer install one for his 2016 Cougar. First trip out he had most of his glassware in the cabinets break. His main living room TV fell off the wall, and damage from vibration. It appeared to be too much vibration for the fifthwheel. Then next trip out he noticed cracks along the molding in front of trailer. When he took it back for Warranty service, Keystone informed him they would not honor warranty because he converted to gooseneck ! So just FYI.

This isn't the only time Keystone has refused warranty work because a goose neck was installed.

Camper frames are weak. They are not designed to be pulled with a goose neck hinge. The goose neck sticks down farther and puts extra stress the frame up front was not designed to handle.

The Goosebox is built similar to 5th Airborne air ride hitches in that it has an air bag and shock absorber. It is actually approved by Lippert, unlike standard rigid gooseneck adapters. But I have no personal experience with one.

BB TX that is what I have read. This is not just adding a goose neck adapter to the pin box.
Artemus Gordon did your friend have the Goose Box installed or did they just add a goose neck adapter.

If Lippert approved it and it is an air ride I see no problem. Lippert isn't going to approve something that is going to ruin your frame. Go for it.

Remember one thing if your tow vehicle brakes down you are SOL. Nobody will be able to tow you. You are out of luck till your tow vehicle is fixed or replaced.

All you have to do is remove 4 bolts and you are back to a normal slide.

I believe the last two replies are uncertain of what a Reese Goosebox is. In my neck of the woods, there as many trucks with a goose neck ball as a fifthwheel out and about, so getting aid would be of little issue. I dunno what the 4 bolt slide reply was about unless you're talking about removing the entire goosebox ... (heavy).

I must admit I know very little about the goose neck system only what I read and saw in photos on the Anderson site. But in my neck of the woods and in all of my travels all over the US I have not seen hardly any 5ers with the goose neck. But as I said any mechanical device will/can fail. As for me I will not put anything on my truck that will limit my ability to tow a friends 5er.
