Keystone Montana Safety Recall

Wonder if any Keystone Montana owners have received a safety recall notice like this:

This notice applies to your vehicle. This notice has been sent in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Act. Our records indicate "YOUR UNIT HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED

Keystone RV Company has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 2021 High Country Montana Fifth Wheels. As a result, Keystone RV is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.

Reason for recall: It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may have 120VAC wiring connectors for the slide room circuit that can get wet and stay wet for extended periods of time due to the way they are mounted. Wet electrical connections can increase the risk of a fire.

What we will do: Keystone representatives have been in contact with the staff at your selling dealership regarding this situation. The remedy is to remove a section of the underbelly, inspect the self-contained power connector, and mount the connectors up to the frame. The service and parts required for this corrective action will be provided at on charge to you.

What we need you to do: In wet climates or after driving in rain, turn off the power circuits that are in the slide room on the OFF Door Side of the unit until the self-contained power connector can be inspected by a dealer. As soon as possible, please make an appointment to have your RV serviced by your dealership. The labor time to perform this correction is approximately 1 hour. Please ask the dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your RV for this repair.

I have an authorized Keystone dealer in my town who can make the repair but was wondering if anyone else had this situation.

The under rig connection boxes have trapped water for many years. Not just the Off Door Side but also the Door Side. Interesting they have now decided to fix one of the problems on a HC.

“Recall” typically has NHTSA involvement. I would suspect if a recall was issued, the volume of reported incidents has gotten their attention.

These junction boxes are located above the coroplast belly? And they collect water? Are they close to the edge along the frame?

Thanks for all who replied. Not sure if it makes a difference but we don't travel in the camper - it's set up on a site in a seasonal campground in Wells, Maine and has never been trailered except from the dealership to the campground, where it's been for the past 2 seasons and no issues. It's unlikely we'll ever trailer it to another location. Would the electrical connections be more susceptible to trapped water for units that travel regularly?
