Power Monitor with Inverter Generator

Hello.
Looking into something like a Progressive EMS with all the campground power system horror stories I've been reading about. But it also looks like the EMS system can't be used with an inverter generator when I'm boondocking. Can anyone confirm this or offer advice?
Thanks.
Bob

The EMS is for shore power. I'm sure you can hard wire an EMS after the transfer switch to monitor all incoming power sources. Typically inverter and gen power doesn't need protection.

Thanks for the reply.
More info: I don't have a transfer switch. Just plug the RV power cord into the single or paralleled inverter generators. I think I read that there inverters will eventually ruin the EMS but wasn't sure I understood.

The usual problem with a generator and an EMS is the lack of a ground. Portable generator types don't have a ground which shore power does. The EMS will notice this and refuse to let the power pass through it. The solution is to:
1. Don't use the EMS - the inverter generators put out clean power and the EMS is not necessary.
2. Use a Bonded Neutral Plug to fool the EMS. You can make one or buy one online pretty cheap.

Thanks, Carl.
And I wasn't thinking, but one obvious option is a portable EMS instead of hardwired. I just need to check into whether the portable units have all the features of hardwired.
