I use the outlet the microwave is plugged into. I purchased a heavy duty 6ft extension cord the 3 prong one that you can use for air conditioners. My reason for using that outlet is that its on its own dedicated circuit. You don't have to worry that a coffee maker or toaster will overload the circuit. DO NOT use a cheap extension cord buy the heavy duty one. I believe that it ran around $9.
