EdenPURE infrared heaters

We just received a piece of junk mail advertizing the EdenPURE portable heater. It says that it can reduce heating bills by about 50%. I've heard Paul Harvey advertizing this also. Does anyone have any first hand experience with one of these? I'm always afraid of big claims, big cost and little performance. The one that will heat 300 square feet is $297 with no shipping and handling if I order within 10 days.

Don and Bonnie, See thread titled "Electric Heater" and authored by myself. I was asking the same questions. I decided to go with a less costly heater. I liked the idea of the cool touch, but was reminded that one could buy several heaters for the cost of this one. IF you do buy, let me know how you like it. I am always leery of what these "talking heads" advertise on the radio, knowing they are getting a hefty fee for hawking an item.

Phil, Thanks for the direction. I should have done a search first. As I said above big claims and big prices generally scare me. I think I will check out the competition before I make a final decision.

By the way, how come your temperature way up there in icy Alaska is 5 degrees warmer than here in Ohio? What's wrong with this picture?

rgn, Was there anything specific that led you to buying 2 of these? Do they have anything that the competition might lack that you are aware of?
