The tanks are not heated themselves but rather are heated indirectly by hot air from the furnace being directed by venting into the basement and the undercarriage areas. Our 2007 3400RL actually had a label by the door that stated it had the artic package. I don't know if this was factory installed or dealer installed. I would venture to say that a call to Keystone-Montana with your VIN would let them look up the installation packages that were included on your rig. Hope this helps.

You can also go look at youre heater and you will have a silver looking hose going thru the floor into the basement, just like the one going into the throne room.

Folks, isn't the total artic pkg simply the extra layer of insulation spread the length of the trailer under the tanks? (Looks a little like bubble packing)

Don't know about the Montana's, but our Cambridge had a button for each tank, black, grey, galley. You could turn on what ever tank you wanted to heat. It had like a heat pad on each tank. It also had extra insulation etc. GBY...

I have the artic Package and it is labeled as such at the door. It includes basement heat to keep pipes from freezing and the extra insilation. It also has a value system for pumping anti-freeze through the system. Unfortunately they put mine right behind the built in vacuum in the cabinet so I have to remove the vacuum to use it. I thought that was kind of dumb.

Also the water lines are run down the side of the heating duct, according to the info that came with my rig.

It’s my understanding that prior to ’07 your underbelly tanks were guaranteed not to freeze to 20 degrees, starting in ’07 it’s 0 degrees. Now of course that’s assuming you’re living in it and it’s heated. It is also my understanding that all Montana’s have the Artic package as standard.

Steve, as Andy mentioned, all Montanas have the Arctic Package. It's technically listed as an option but it's a "required option." That's what we were told on all three Montanas we have purchased.
As far as I know, the insulation blanket mentioned by tjuhl is the total arctic package. Someone awhile back posted some rather impressive information about how much that blanket helps.
Andy, correct on the 2007's. For the earlier models it was 27, though, not 20. At least it was when I asked Keystone about it. I'm not sure if it's really a "guarantee." Is it stated as a guarantee or does it say "tested to zero degrees?" In any case, we can tell you it works. We've had this Montana in five below zero weather and a week where the high for the week was 14 and never had any freezing of lines or tanks inside the rig.
