TSD Logistics fuel card
A friend of mine recommended getting the TSD Logistics fuel card. When I went to their website to request a card, the application asked for my social security card and bank account number. I never give out this information, especially to an on-line entity. Has anyone used this fuel card? Why is such confidential information needed "for security purposes". Certainly there are other ways to confirm identity. Thanks for any input.

Those are two things I would never give out. And no legitimate reason for them to ask for them. And far to many ways for that to be abused or leaked.

The card works great, I have had it for over a year. It is tied directly to your bank account and it is for credit, that is the reason for the information. I think the SSN can be given over the phone when you complete the application process.
If I remember correctly, it is a secured site.

The TSD fuel card is very popular and there has been significant discussion about it, bank access and social security number information. Read them and make your decision.

just used it today. I gave them the social on the phone and set up a seperate savings account at the bank so I control how much money is out there. Had the card for since it first came out and it's saved a bunch of money.

Love the card saved me a ton. They ask for your ssn so they can go after you if you purchase fuel and close your account. They need to have some recourse. I was in cyber security and I was also reluctant as well to give out that information.

Use it myself
I have 2 of their cards tied to my bank account. I recommend them to anyone who owns a diesel.
Do you research as I did and you'll learn they've been around for 20+ years with over 20k people using the fuel card.

Love the discount and convenience of being able to use card at the pump. Sorry that Pilot/ Flying J discontinued accepting the card.
Have it tied to an account that we use just for household purchases, groceries and restaurants.

TSD is fine, your choice. We have been using FJ/pilot for many years . They are everywhere and are easy on easy off have plenty of parking for the Rv and good restaurants if you choose to use it.

That used to be my opinion also, but Love's are everywhere and have reasonable food options also so I quit on Flying J.

If you need fuel and there's a TA near, the TSD discount has been running approx 60 cents per gal, last I checked the Love's discount was approx 16 cents which is still better than 8 cents at Pilot & Flying J.

We use Loves also. The FJ's just happen to be exactly were we need them to be on our Florida trips when it is time to fuel . We have used Loves across the country.

I try and use TA, they seem to always have the best discount.

They need SS and bank because they are extending you credit, and then taking the money out of you account. The discounts are well worth the risk, which is no more than anyone else that has your account for ACH deductions. TA truck stops are the best. You can also get an app with prices on a map. It is excellent.

One additional benefit for TSD card users
Installing the app on your cell phone gives you the ability to "price search" and locate the nearest available fuel source to your location, along with the expected PPG currently available.

I haven’t gotten the TSD card yet but will before we start our travels next year. I have no problem giving information (securely) to a known and trusted company.
Btw, I paid $1.59/gallon last night in Woffold Tx after I unhooked. Costco! Best price in years!

We opened an account with them this past spring. Works great and has saved us some cash. Like any other savings program you need to look for the cheapest way to save in the area you are in and go with what works for you.
