New Member 3791RD
Hello All,
Full-time working couple on the road now for a couple of years. Recently upgraded to a 2016 3791RD and are excited to get some new ideas to upgrade our rig and attend the rally. Thanks

Congrats and welcome.
Upgrades and customizations on our camper are almost always a person choice based on our own need for comfort, safety, and functionality. It takes a little time to figure out what is the natural "flow" of a new camper, if hooks are needed here or there, or a shelf added here or there, or if you need a heftier battery, or even a different kind of refrigerator.
My suggestion is for you to use your new camper a few times on short trips and longer trips and get the "feel" for the camper and how it fits you. After your second or 3rd trip, you will know what fits your personal lifestyle and what does not. Customizations are then in order, and will fit your needs.
You may also find the camper is completely, perfect for you. On the other hand, you may fast discover it's completely wrong, and start immediately looking for a new camper.
BUT! If you are really wanting to do something, then check the roof and make sure the seams are sealed good. Perhaps this is the absolute most important thing you can do for a camper's longevity.

Welcome to the forum! May your new rig bring you many years of wonderful memories. You will find, over time, that this forum will help you spend money on new projects as much as you want.

Thanks to all who responded. I am grateful. Our first 5th wheel was a mid grade KZ that was a wonderfully built unit. We got spoiled. Sold it and bought the custom Montana. We are pretty good at fixing most things; hubby was a mechanic in a former life. But this Montana has just about beat us. From the front hydraulics to the transformer switch to the underbelly plumbing. Every time we wanted to take it on a shakedown trip, something else would fail. It’s sitting in a park nearby, secure, and waiting for additional repairs. We took it to Camping World because it’s right next door to the RV park, and right across the highway from our subdivision. We did not buy from CW, because they refused to custom order for us. We bought from RV Outlet in VA.
Alisha Howton and the rest of the customer service crew at Keystone have been less than helpful. Disappointing, actually.
We’re now working with a mobile repair guy to finish the heavy duty repairs. Those costs, of course, are out of pocket.
Covid killed our plan of a 9,000 mile, 5 month round the country trip last June.
But I shudder to think of what would have happened had we been in the middle of nowhere when the front hydraulics failed. Or when the transfer switch burned up because it was wired incorrectly at the factory. Or when water started flooding from the underbelly when the main water line cracked. Right now we have no water in the coach pending that repair.
Thanks for the venting. I’m looking forward to some constructive back and forth and hopefully, soon, some great travels.
Susan

Here are a re few upgrades we did to our 2019 3791RD
We converted our Dinette to a 2 person work station (with wine cooler base) here is the DIY installation (it also functions well as a 2 person Dinette
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ad.php?t=80434
Also we added a 43" TV in the outside front basement, here is that DIY

Also I highly recommend you upgrade to disc. brakes it is a game changer when towing, and a must for Full timers.
I also added the King WIFI directional antenna, I work while stating in our Montana and needed better WIFI conectivity, this increased my WIFI signal at least 5 folds.

Finally upgraded the batteries this system fits like a glove

On our rear basement we have a Kamado Jow JR Clay BBQ/Smoker as well as two folding RAD mini E-bikes mounted to the tray for transport
