Pretty! It's 70 here in Kansas also, but it's that cool because a severe thunder storm is rocking the rig

Same here. I wake up every morning and look out and see the Blueridge Mountains and think how lucky I am to have had the privilege of living on this little farm all my life.

Hot at Myrtle Beach but we are parked in the shade and have enjoyed both the beach and pool today.

We spent July of 2012 on the Oregon coast. Loved it! First time in memory that this Florida boy spent the entire month of July in long pants!

Hi
We did the same thing in July of 2010. Wife wanted to go swimminmg or at least waid in the Pacific so she could say she had been in both oceans. It never got warm enough for her to even walk accross the beach to the water LOL

Yeah, that temperature thing and the and the fine sand (NOT) beach kept us from wading barefoot, but we were ready to move there! Then the wife reminded me of the long damp winters...

50's on the mountain at that time. High around 80 today. Never had A/C installed when we built the house. Time to cut firewood.

Hi
That’s what makes it such a wonderful day we don’t have to start mowing again until Monday August 1. LOL
Because of the heat it takes a day to do the front yard and around the houses. The second day the area around the 4 trailers in the back yard and the third day the very backyard behind the trailers. This is done in 3 hour days using a 60 inch zero turn mower.
Then I pay a fellow $290 to come in with a 15ft batwing mower and mow the side yard once a month. The side yard is a mile long and is 12 acres.

I have got to learn the terminology in my adopted state of Florida. I thought if part of your property was 12 acres you would refer to it as a "farm" or "ranch". Having a "side yard" of 12 acres is pretty big! Nice property Phil.

Hi
It commonly depends on the zoning.
You are correct the zoning on my place is agriculture and you could call it a farm. My wife original bread Arabian horses so it was a horse farm then.
However the contract for purchase I had required a special exception for an airport and aircraft repair business to be issued on the property before closing.
So technically I guess this is a farm containing an airport.
Now you understand why the yard on the north edge of the property is a mile long. LOL

Hi
When I built the place 35 years ago I had 40 aircraft. The storage was killing me on the coast. The absence of the cost of storage paid for the land and the construction of the airstrip in one year. These were all WWII and Korean War piston engine aircraft. Half a dozen DC3 half a dozen T28 and about 30 British and French communication and training aircraft.
In 5 years I had sold all of them except one which is still in storage in one of the semi trailers you see in the picture. Hurricane Wilma got the last 3 flyable aircraft I had. I was self insured so I just sold them as is.
So now any one that would like to own a licensed airport with a 1200 square foot house to boot just give me a call and we will see what we can work out. LOL

This sounds like a guy I know. He occasionally orders something from me and I send it to a mutual friends who delivered it. About 5 years or so ago he and his family bought some airplanes, Bowing 747s 4 billion dollars worth. He is in the ruling family in one of the Mideast countries UAE, I think. At any rate his pay grade is way above mine. I couldn't buy a Piper Cub.
