100 deg.=Hyd Pump Leak?
Hi All,
Well, It's hit 100+ degs. and my Hyd. pump is doing its thing, leaking again.
We're on our 3rd pump because they have all leaked when its hot, and that's in just 2 1/2 years. Just picked it up today for our summer trip and there's the puddle of oil again. Down about a Qt.
Seems to always leak between the plastic res. and the metal pump. I'm thinking it may be the differences in the expansion rates of the Plastic and the Metal causing the "O" ring to lose its seal.
Anyone else seen this problem in Hot Areas?
Boy this is getting old.

Our unit has been through 115 degrees for days and we have not had a leak. Candles melted but that was the only problem.
Happy trails....................

Steve,
We had our Hydraulic pump changed last year and it still leaks some, so I just use it and I will add fluid when it gets low. You don't have to have 100 degrees for it to leak.

Steve,
Is your pump a Dewald? That's what ours is and I have an appointment the end of June to have it checked. It's leaking oil a little and my slides go out a little while traveling down the road. Until I get back to Hiawatha, IA I brace the two large slides with 2x4s to keep them from going out too far. Will follow up this problem when I get it fixed. Rig is over 6 years old and the hydraulic system is under extended warranty.

Hi Orv,
Mine is the Lippert. Fortunatly the Oil leaks out side the Coach on to the ground. Also it's easy to keep filled.
