Sailun Tire Failure

Sailun S637 ST235/85R16 - Purchased May 2021 from Simple Tire. Pretrip inspected all tires and in good condition upon departure. TPMS indicated 110 on all 4. Temps good. Arrived home after 2 hr trip and found left rear tire in rough shape. No alarms on TPMS during the trip.

Slight damage to the tire well area. Nothing major.

Tires have about 7500 miles on them. Anyone else experienced this? Have you dealt with the Sailun or Simple Tire customer service? Any other relevant thoughts?

Thank you in advance.

You may be aware of this, but if not, are these Vietnam tires by any chance?
There was a recall.

Well you are going to have to remove it anyway and the Date Code will be on the inside wall.

Here is the Recall info from Sailun.. The letter from Sailun came out Dec 2021 so in view of your tire purchase date I would bet you have tires affected by the recall... Review the list for specific date code

That very much looks like the failure which prompted the recall.

Good morning,
Thanks for all the feedback. I hadn’t had a chance to check the inside of tire for the dates codes. Made it out to where it is stored today and found 3 of the 5 tires I purchased.at the same tire are affected in the recall range.

Reading the recall it states they sent notice to all owners. Unfortunately I didn’t receive the notice or I would have resolved much sooner.

Reaching out to Simple Tire and Sailun to resolve. Again thanks for the help. Great group!

I’ve been assured that the issue is NOT all Vietnam tires, just ones in the date range shared in the recall notices.

Sailun recall progress status

If possible, please do post a follow up message as you go down the route for claims. I contacted them once, talked to a guy, and they ghosted me ever since. Bought 6 from Amazon, all of them in the date range, 4 failed (tread separation) and replaced them all with Blackhawks (another Sailiun brand).

Sorry to here about your tires. But do contact sailon customer service asap. I had all 4 of my tires replaced including mounting and balance. They reimbursed me for everything within 2 weeks after I sent them information They asked for. Great customer service.

We had a Sailiun tire blow last summer…contacted the distributor and received EXCELLENT customer service. They sent me a new tire within 5 days and offered to pay for the mounting, too. Here is their contact information:

Good luck!
