I have been away from the forum this past week. Just a note to all of you who have hung in there with me during my difficult year, it looks like I will be picking up my new and improved Miss Montana this coming Monday.
My mother died last week. Less than a week of moving my dad into his new house. Services are over and I spent some time helping my dad put his place together. He's doing OK.. They had 57 years of marriage, but have actually been together since they were 14 years old. He wants to come with me to pick up my new unit and I look forward to his help. As a retired Operating Engineer and "Stock" car driver he's pretty good on towing and backing and all things mechanical.
I've been packing boxes today. I thought it would be best to just pack everything in boxes and move from one unit to the other and than put things away when I get back to my site. The trick is placement of the boxes for the tow. But I think I have it figured out. (Any tips?) I don't want to try to put things in their new place at the dealers because I have much more storage in the new unit and want to think it through. Plus I need to get back home to my day job.
I guess it's a little bittersweet at this point, but I will be happy to be in my new Miss Montana and have this chapter over. I'll have my dad here for Christmas and we'll share it with friends and life will go on.
Hey! Maybe next year I'll do a little towing and travelin' (not to dealerships
) I would really like to spend a long weekend at Fort DeSoto Park on St Pete beach and just walk the beach and read all the books on my to read list.
