Oklahoma City, OK
I am thinking of stopping on the way home in Oklahoma City to see the Oklahoma memorial. I was looking at staying a couple of nights at the Rockwell RV Park. Good/Bad???

We stayed at the KOA just east of OKC a few days last summer. A pretty nice park. Gets a little better reviews on campgroundreviews.com than the others. And from the satellite views will definitely have more shade. But I haven't stayed at the others so can't comment on them.

We have used the Okla. East KOA last year and again this past July. We will be there again in Sept... on our return trip accross I-40, clean and the owners are very nice... I put little faith in RV Park reviews and very seldom use them. I do use a lot of KOA's because of the WiFi. Good Luck with your choice. Happy Trails...

Mike, that memorial is well worth a visit. There's a museum there, too, that's worth a visit.
We stayed in Rockwell and Vicki's notes say it was "OK" which means it's nothing special but it's fine. If I recall, when we were there they gave a Passport America discount for a night or two or three. I don't know if they still do.

Mike and Delanine and Lindy,
When are you guys going through OKC?
We are headed up to OKC around September 13. I just read on the Cowboy Museum website that Wednesdays are free. Guests fees are paid for by Ford until sometime in November.

Delaine and I have decided to go back thru Kansas on I-70. We met a wonderful couple while in Colorado.... And will stop in Alma Kansas for a couple of days to visit.
We are in Santa Fe NM but will move on 22 Aug to Buena Vista Colorado for a week and then roll on toward Kansas 29 Aug. Really was dreading going thru Oklahoma City, its was really a ruff strech but they were trying to repair it.. Hope they get it done soon. Happy Trails....
P.S. I do like and recomend KOA East and will stay there again in the Future...

Lindy, Alma is in my old teenage stomping ground! Wamego, just about 11 miles north of there is my "home town." I remember there being a couple of good lookin' young ladies from Alma in those days. And Liederkranz was a terrific country party place. Have a good time.

I was curious whether I might know either of them so did a bit of googling and came up with this link.
http://www.ranchcowboy.com/
But I don't know anyone by that name.
Have a good time.
