cabinet shelf liner

I've always lined my shelves with what I called scoot cloth. When I put it down, it was somewhat tacky and anything heavy on it would not move. The heavy stuff like plates and bowls don't slide on the cloth, but the cloth now slides on the cabinet shelf.

So I thinking of redoing all the shelf liners. Any thoughts on improvements in scoot cloth use? Maybe staple it in the corners?

Someone must have solve this by now.

We went back and forth on that issue and then a friend told us about partially inflated beach balls. Now we still use the non skid stuff underneath, but put a partually inflated beach ball on top of the stuff we don't want to move and haven't had movement since. Also use one over the DVR and Hopper. Strap them together and put the beach ball on top inflated to just fit.

DW says the bumpy scoot cloth should be called scooch cloth because it does not stay down and it scooches up together into a bunched up mess. She threw it all out and bought pioneer Woman shelf paper. She puts stuff in shoe boxes and some stuff in old porcelain refrigerator drawers and stuff stays in place pretty good. We have an old record holder rack to hold the cookie sheets and flat pans, maybe a few pan lids.

I am going to use spray glue from the craft store to hold mine down. I have used double sided tape in our previous travel trailer.

I think I'm going to start with clean shelves, then put new scoot cloth down and staple the corners at the edge with 1/4" staples. Online the scoot cloth is too cheap to remove and wash, I'll just replace it every few years.

I use yoga mats cut to fit. They work brilliantly!

Becky found a black rubber shelf liner at Lowe's, Duck brand, that seems to be working much better. Because it is solid, dust won't get underneath to allow it to move, if the shelf is clean to start with. It's also on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Duck-Shelving...1264993&sr=8-5
