CPAP Shelf

Is it just me or shouldn't a CPAP shelf outlet be inverted? Does anyone have an inverted outlet for a CPAP?

Yes I have one for a friend when they use our camper. It’s hooked to the receptacles in the kitchen. It has an off on switch and the 120 volt line it’s on can can be turned on or off so the 400 watt true sine wave converter can supply power to his cpac. He says it works fine for him.

I have had an inverter in both my rigs. Under the bed along the edge. My cpap plugs into that when we boondock. That doesn't happen much tho. It works fine. I had to put in this gigantic fuse inline and a very heavy line to the inverter. I ran it thru the same area as something else that goes to the bedroom slide.

I doubt the engineers are old enough to realize how prevalent CPAP devices have become. Now a days it makes sense to have an inverted outlet near the head of the bed. I agree it would be a nice to hard standard feature.

Having an older unit, there was no inverter originally. I have a big one that run Entertainment Center functions. But I didn't want to run it all night long as that tends to waste 12V needlessly. My CPAP would run on 12V power that I stole from the TV outlet. That was replaced by a Bi-PAP which wouldn't work with the long 12V extension cord across the room (too much voltage/amperage loss). I upgraded to a 300 Watt inverter plugged into the outlet and a long 120V extension cord and it works fine.

I have run 12V wiring for CPAPs in friends RVs. Running an inverted 120V line should be easy depending in the floor plan. Front bedrooms are easy to get to from the storage bay. I don't know enough about rear bedroom models to say it would be easy. Obviously you can run a line under the coroplast but that may be too much work.

Are you wanting to run it on the inverter in the event of power loss during the night?
I've been using a CPAP for over 25 years and only had that happen once. I woke up gasping for air, but at least I did wake up!

Foldbak, did you get the basic or upgraded solar flex system. I have attached what is included. If you got the base with the residential fridge, the outlets are prepped, but that inverter is meant for the fridge only. I would recommend anyone buying a new Montana at least upgrade to the 400i because the inverted outlets are already working. https://www.keystonerv.com/solarflex...AaAkgGEALw_wcB
You can upgrade easily to the 400.

I have a 2022 with the 400 package and a total of 7 inverted outlets throughout the trailer. One would assume that Keystone would include inverted outlets at the CPAP shelf's for boondocking.

Not in my rig. I've tested them. Thus the question...

I just looked at the website and found that they've already changed the bed layout. No more king bed. Now a queen...did they run out of king mattress's? And still no inverted outlet. All inverted outlets have a yellow sticker on them.

I will check with Matt Wolkins. Are you on the Solar Flex Facebook page? Matt is one of our members and a great resource.

We have 2021 3761FL no solar. We have 5 outlets inverted with the yellow stickers, but only the one across the bedroom from the bed. So its not convenient for a CPAP machine at all! You would have thought Keystone would have thought of that!

I have a portable battery that powers my CPAP when not hooked up or at home with a power loss. 12v connection runs it for 2 nights humidity on and heated line. picked up on amazon.

Is it like a Jackery power station or something cpap specific? I'd really like something like that for mine. I considered getting a PC style battery backup. Just not sure how long it would last.

you want something DC specific and get the DC to DC adapter for your CPAP. DC to DC saves energy since the unit does not have to convert to 120vac.

Yes its something like the Jackery, my CPAP plug looks like the car adapter. I also purchased the 100 or 200 watt solar folding solar panel with it don't remember which.

PC uninterrupted power supply will take 12v and convert to 120vac so you will lose power in the conversion process. going 12v to12v works best. if your CPAP has a 12v adapter of course.

Jackery 300

I just got the Jackery 300. Fully charged I only used 20% of the battery to run one 7 hour night. This was with the humidifier off. I purchased this DC power supply for the unit which also saved battery. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I will probably use this method for a bit until I either install another inverted outlet or just run an extension cord from the inverted outlet in the bedroom. I agree that they should have made a different outlet inverted in the bedroom

CPAP Power

Here is what I use - plugs into 110V outlet and if power is lost switches over to 12V automatically.Click image for larger version

We've used our CPAPs plugged into our 2019 HC for four years, no problems, ever. Philips Resperonix and Breas 2. Going to use the new Airsense 11 in a few weeks for the summer.

I'm specifically referring to boondocking. An inverted outlet on the CPAP shelf would have been really smart. I have a rechargeable lithium battery but...
