Day/night shade problem
Dining area shade in our 3400RL was replaced under warrantee, now the lower screw holding the strings came out of the wall and the hole is too loose to put the screw back in tightly. Do not want another hole in the wall if it can be avoided. What would be the recommended method of repair. Almost too small of an item to make the trip to the dealership for warrantee again. Don't know how thick the wall is, so don't know if a wall screw expansion would work properly. Am handy enough to do most of the repairs needed but do not know enough about the structure of the unit.

I had the same problem.
Just drill a new hole either to the top or bottom of stripped hole. Drill a little bit away from the old hole & install spool. The spool will cover both holes.

Plug the hole with match sticks or tooth picks and glue. Then replace the screw. It is an old carpenter's trick for dealing with wallowed out screw holes.

The wall layout is about 1/8 plywood(not correct name but will do) then about 1" Styrofoam insulation, 1/8 plywood and outer wall covering. My suggestion for repair would be the same as in the above postings, plug and glue or new hole. Good luck.

Plug and glue worked well for us

Also I have found a lot of them are drilled into the aluminum studs & stripped.

Drill it out and inset a plastic wall anchor. The screw will hold in that.
