Furnace in 2020 3120RL shuts off
When I activate the thermostat for the furnace the following occurs:
1) Fan starts and runs.
2) Gas turns on and igniter starts flame
3) After 30 seconds it clicks off. No flame. No fan.
4) The red light on control board flashes one time then no more
5) The black cylinder on the control board is buzzing/vibrating
A press of the reset switch by the control board starts it up again and repeats the sequence.
Sail switch is clean and functions correctly.
Gas pressure is correct.
What causes the black cylinder on the control board to vibrate? If it was trying to restart the flame it would click repeatedly not buzz/vibrate.

I have to ask…how do you know the gas pressure is correct? If you have a Fairview regulator then it might be the issue unless you’ve done the actual testing for flow. If it’s igniting and running then the sail switch wouldn’t be an issue.
If you have the manual it might tell you what the single flashing light might mean. Otherwise, a post ignition failure could be:
Regulator
Control Board
Flame sensor
Poor air flow - check for bug nest

The flame clicks off at the solenoid as well as the fan.
If the regulator was at fault the flame would be diminished or flame out.
Why does the ignitor coil buzz? If it was trying to relight it would click and the fan would be running first.
Is the flame sensor thermal or optic?

I’m not an expert but I believe that the flame sensor is thermal.
My experience with the regulator was just like yours…no diminished flame. It was on, then it was off. The furnace has a high demand for propane flow at 11” water column, which I believe is the highest regulated output of our regulators. If the regulator is under-performing, the furnace shuts off. I looked into making or buying the equipment necessary to test propane flow. I just bought a new Marshal Excelsior regulator instead and haven’t had a problem since.

What is causing the ignitor coil to buzz?

I’m afraid I don’t know, unless it’s trying to reignite. The fact that the furnace actually lights, and then dies, tells me that the igniting system likely isn’t the issue. It is possible that the issue is with the control board itself. You’d have to pull it (easy to do) and take it to a tech who can test it for you.

It does not buzz when it first lights. Only after the shut down. And then it would not try to ignite without the fan being on which it isn't.

Sail switch is good.
I would swap the 15A black self resetting fuse with a regular blue one.
There was a time when there was a bad batch of control boards out there. However they only went bad in extream cold below freezing temperatures.
Put a hair dryer blowing on the control board to bring it back to life. If you have to replace the control board i would go with a dinosaur board.

Furnace Fuse
the fuse that feed the furnace is a auto reset fuse and it will trip when the fan starts and will reset after a moment or two so its hard to trouble shoot. I replaced the fuse with a different fuse and the furnace works properly.

Ours didn’t come with a resettable fuse so I didn’t think of that…but that’s sound advice. OP should at least check to see if that’s the fuse he has before digging in to other things.

I’m guessing the flame sensor/ignitor.

Sounds like the thermocouple.

On some if not most RV furnaces the flame sensor (thermocouple) and ignitor are integrated.

Check your circuit breaker. They had a bad batch of the 50 amp automatic resetting circuit breakers they were using on that circuit. There are a number of posts in this forum about it and the recommended fix is to replace the breaker with a 80 amp automotive fuse. We had the same issue you describe when ours was brand new (Dec. 2020) and nearly froze. Once we did the swap, everything worked perfectly.

That’s a fix for hydraulic levelers. The OP’s are electric so the swap to an 80 amp circuit breaker isn’t recommended.
