2022 Montana 3781 RL 2nd Dump Handle

Have you had any minor or major issues with this RV, we have a 2022 3781 RL we just took delivery of, tow vehicle is a 2022 Ford F350 DRW 6.7 PSD? One question I have for you is where is the dump valve for the second gray tank, niether the dealer nor I have been able to locate it. When I run water into the washer drain it drain direct out the main drain. Keystone indicate that it should have a drain valve close to the left tires. A picture would be great if possible.

2022 Montana 3781 RL 2nd Dump Handle

I have a 2022 Montana 3781 RL. Where is the second gray tank valve located on your rig? Neither the dealer nor I can find the valve. Keystone says it is in front of the left side tires. A picture of what it looks like would be great because I have a feeling that it was not installed from the factor. When you run water directly into the wash drain the water drains directly overboard after a few minutes on running. so, it seems to drain into a tank then once there's enough water in the tank it begins to drain. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have a warranty work appointment schedule for Friday.

Interesting, according to the specs you only have 1 gray tank.

If you do have a second tank it should be here.

I have a 2021 3781RL Legacy. The second gray tank handle is underneath the body just in front of the left front tire and behind the drain. You have to reach under the body to find it. Hope this helps.

That second grey tank handle comes through coroplast and under the frame. It might be that the handle or even the whole rod (that tank valve uses a rod not a cable) has come undone and fallen out. It has happened to others. Find the hole in the coroplast in the location described above. Then undo the coroplast to see what is wrong.

I am concerned about your statement "When you run water directly into the wash drain the water drains directly overboard after a few minutes on running." By "overboard" do you mean out the drain line or from somewhere else? From somewhere else would be another problem to be corrected.

No, the drains out the 1 1/2" pipe into the main 4" waste pipe. I spoke with Keystone technical support today and they said that our RV does have a second gray tank that holds the wastewater from the kitchen sink and washer. They also indicated that there should be a dump valve on the left side in front of the tires. However, I am unable to locate said dump valve rod. I am leaning in the direction you are suggesting, I am hoping that it is just that, that the rod is there but did not getting installed to its finally location. I have snack camera I am going to use tonight to see if it is just laying in the belly. If it is then the dealer can finish the installation. Thanks for your reply.

Even the Montana's specs have *ALWAYS* indicated there is only one grey tank. But we all know that every Montana since 1999 has had two grey tanks. That one tank illusion is what generates the frequently asked question about a full sink tank that won't drain.

It would be nice if Montana would update their literature to mention the existence of two grey tanks.

If the handle is missing be sure to look for a small 1” slit in the cover. You should be able to place your finger through it and feel the spot where the handle goes. I have lost 2 and glued my third on on to hopefully prevent another loss.

Here's a picture. When you find it paint the handle white so it's easier to find.

I like to thank everyone for their comments. Last night I was able to locate the actual valve under the belly cover using a borescope, Keystone just forgot to attach the handle. I say forgot to attach because there was no hole in the underbelly where it should have exited, I had to make one for the borescope to be inserted. Once I put the borescope into the belly I found the valve without handle, and it was in the open position which explains why when water put in the washer drain it drained out of the main. Once again Thanks for all the comments.

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
A 1/4 inch threaded rod will thread into the valve and you can make your own handle.

Good news but makes me wonder if it was ever installed at the factory?

Better to not take delivery until such things are sorted.

If you have a double slide, it's behind the slide out buy the leveling jack or just in front of the tire. Ours tank valve is there for the kitchen Drian,

Our 3000RK has the kitchen drain on the drivers side clear in the back under the trailer behind the slide.
