Here we go.......please join us!

We are having a very casual, meet and greet for Montana Owners who will be in the southeastern area of the United States at the end of March. Twin Oaks RV Park near Elko, Georgia is a highly rated park with 72 sites, full hookups, free WiFi, a free community room, pool and hot tub, and interesting things to see the area. We have the community room reserved for the weekend. Everyone is responsible for their own reservation. Just say you are from the Montana Owners forum. Their rate is $18.00 if you just stay for Friday and Saturday night. If you come a day early and belong to Passport America, your rate will be $14.00 per day for your entire stay.

Friday, March 31 - Sunday, April 2, 2006

Make your reservation early and THEN figure out if you can come. There's no penalty for cancelling a reservation. Just let the park know early if you can't come. They are saving the pullthroughs for us, sites 49-64 will be assigned first.

If anyone wants to organize a special activity for the weekend, please feel free to do so. I think a potluck for Saturday night would be nice. Any other ideas would be welcome.

Judy, I hope you plan on doing thisd again in '07 when we are in the South East. This year (06) is already taken on our "Going to Alaska Route." Next year we should be in that area.

Great idea, Helen. We hope to see you again and then you could present all your pictures from Alaska.

Judy, I made our reservations on the net, you are awesome for putting this together. I need to make sure we have no family stuff that weekend with the Ozark folks, but if not will help with anything the MOC might need. I'll know more in a few weeks. Hugs Kim

Thanks, Kim. At least we'll have a party of two....two rigs, I mean. Sure look forward to meeting you. We'll be in Alabama for most of Nov. and Dec. so we'll have to have lunch or something while we're nearby. The park sounds so accomodating, especially since you can make a reservation and cancel with no penalty. Should be fun. I'm sure others will join us.

Jimmy Carter's home is near by.(55 miles or so) Vidalia, the onion capital, is about 90 miles away.

You didn't mention the dates in march. Just the last of March. We would like to attend since we will be in Florida during that time.

We called Twin Oaks RV park and made our reservations. We found out what the dates were (March 30-April 1). we will be coming in on the 29th and leaving out on the 3rd for St Augustine FL. We had stayed there before when the National RV Rally was at Perry Ga. Nice campgrounds. Saturday pot luck would be nice. We will be coming from Florida. So if we can help in anyway, just let us know. We carry a laptop while were on the road. We do have a couple of games on board that people can play. Horse shoes and Ladder golf. We belong to a good sam chapter and use these all of the time. The area has a lot to offer with Macon Ga, and Andersonville will keep people busy.

Thanks for stepping up, everybody. Looks like we've got ourselves a rally! I added the dates to my first entry on this thread. Hopefully, this will clear things up a bit. And thanks for the offers to help. We'll get into the details as we get closer to the dates. I'm all for a potluck on Sat. night and maybe we can have a Meet and Greet on Friday evening so we can introduce ourselves.

We have a Ladder Golf set and love to play dominoes. Looks like we have access to a nice room if the weather is bad and we need to play board games. We had so much fun meeting other Montana Owners at Reno that we're really looking forward to this weekend. Thanks for the ideas and offers to help.

Be sure to check out the website as it is very informative with lots of pictures.

Judy,
We would love to be there and we will make an attempt but I cannot make a commitment until closer to March.

We'd love to have you join us, Glenn and Lorraine. You could make a reservation and then cancel if you can't come. There's no penalty as long as you cancel a few days ahead of time. They don't even require a deposit.

Diana and I have never been to one of these things but it sounds like fun. We tried to make a res. online but didn't get a confirmation. Diana will call tomorrow and get it squared away. We look forward to seeing you there.

Talk about irony! You picked dates right in the heart of my two week spring break/intersession! Sadly, we will be further north in the Georgia mountains at that time as we have reservations at Unicoi SP outside of Helen from March 26 to April 5.

Hope everyone has a good time; if this is the campground I have seen going down I-75 in the past, it ought to be a nice place for everyone! Perhaps we can meet everyone in 2007.

I am going to try and talk Jeanne into it. We will be in Ft. Myers Jan. & Feb. and she gets kind of antsy when she's gone more than 2 months, but I'll give it a try.

Michael and Diana, getting together with other Montana owners has proven to be great fun. We're glad you'll be able to join us. The management is very nice. I'm sure they'll get your reservation straight.

J. D., I was hoping you folks could be there, but if you're not able to attend, Helen is a great place to be.

Bob, that's an awful picture, but a good reminder to all of us to be careful. Hope you can attend.
