Not a Dog, but several years ago we had one of our Kitties pass suddenly. Found a nearby Vet Clinic that could make arrangement for cremation. Took her there and made plans for the remains to be shipped to our next destination. She now still travels with us.

I agree with the cremation. We have had our last several dogs cremated. Easy way to handle it. And you can then either keep the remains, spread their ashes, or very easily bury them in your backyard if you prefer. Our Goldens would require a large hole, but their ashes are easily handled. We have a small dog "cemetary" in our acre backyard with 5 of our dogs interred there with stone markers.

Agree with cremation. No real way to prepare other then know where facilities are located on your route. If I were a pet I can't think of a better way to go then on a bye bye with my peps.

Agree with the others. Our puppy is old and has cancer. She goes with us and we figure when it happens we will just have her taken care of by cremation and either wait until it is done or have her sent to us. We check out vet facilities any time we are going to be anywhere for more than a couple of days.

Agree with cremation. We've also been down that road.

I hope that's the case. I can't imagine any life without pets.
