Navigate through San Antonio on I10

We will be leaving Kerrville TX on I10 heading through San Antonio to Katy Lakes RV Resort near Houston. What route should I take thru San Antonio to avoid as much construction as possible. Also, I seem to recall reading that a couple of the loops around San Antonio had low bridges. Thanks in advance for any information.

I live in San Antonio. Right now once you get very far south of Kerrville IH 10 sucks, mainly due to the explosive growth north of San Antonio to Boerne. If I were you I would probably take Hwy 46 in Boerne east to 281 then south to San Antonio. 281 turns in to IH 37 South and you can pick up IH 10 east on the south side of San Antonio to go to Katy.

We went from Kerrville to Katy Lakes in December and we went I-10 and it was a PITA with all the construction. Avoid I-10 if at all possible through San Antonio
