RESETTING remote and control panel
At the NE Rally I was talking with a new member SHEEPDOG and he told me how to reset the remote system. (Disconnect AC power and Lift 12VDC Ground for 10 minutes) This is similar to a reboot or cold start.
The next day I received a phone call from a MOC member stating their front legs and rear stabilizers would not work. After a quick 12VDC power check I suggested the "reboot". They did it and then pushed some buttons to wake the remote up and it worked.
The MOC works again.
I am posting in case others are not aware of the reboot process.

John, we're a bit confused. What are we supposed to remove? The battery from the trailer? The battery from the remote?

Good question. You remove the ground connection on the battery for the trailer. By removing both 120 AC which shuts down the 12vdc converter and removing the ground removes all 12vdc from the trailer. This removes all power from the main control board for both the trailer and remote switches.
You are removing all power from the main circuit board that responds to the remote or switches on the side panel. Letting it set without power for 10 minutes does a reset to default programing I guess.
If this is still confusing please let me know.

John,
I found this one out by chance. I could not get my remote receiver to go into the "RESET/REPROGRAM" mode so I decided to disconnect all power AC & DC. Left it disconnected for 30 minutes or so and when I hooked everything back up it worked as it was supposed to. Nice to know I was following a real procedure after all
Funny, the instructions for reseting/reprogramming the remote system from Lippert HERE does not mention this at all I bet it would eliminate a lot calls to Lippert and the dealer if it did,but I'd even bet most dealers don't know this.

I just reset mine by depressing the button on the receiver unit next to the red light until it lit. Then I pressed any key om the remote until the red light flashed.

Michael & Kathy,
I only had to remove the power (AC & DC) from the rig when I could not get the receiver to go into the reset/reprogram mode by pressing the reset button. Why it wouldn't is still a mystery to me but now I know the fix for it if it ever happens again.

Bumping this thead as it just helped me out.
Bought a 2010 Montana and the popouts worked, but the electric stabilizer and landing gear didn't. Found the remote control and realized it wasn't working, reset by disconnecting AC / Battery and then everything was working correctly. This thread likely saved me quite a bit of money!
