Fire place as heater
Use ours all the time when hooked to shore power. Also run small electric heater to save propane. Both work well.

Yep, I do it all the time. Also use a good space heater to help keep things from getting too cold and not have the furnace have to do all the work. I set the thermostats pretty low so they aren't running constantly trying to keep the trailer toasty warm.

After a couple of months of this continuous use the fan motor in the fireplace quit! The company who made the fireplace(don't remember name) sent me a new fan unit and arranged to have it installed free under warranty by a local installer. I was told that the fan motors are not heavy duty and not made for continuous use as I had been doing! They said they are made for occasional use etc. What happened was the fan quit and the overtemperature sensor shut down the heater as it is supposed to do. So if you use yours a lot expect to replace the fan motor and/or look into getting a spare!

I have a 2017 HC 310RL and they don't just replace the fan anymore you have to buy the whole unit now. Im on my 3rd one counting the original one. My model is around 200 dollars for it

We leave ours on overnight. Never had a problem but then it only takes one problem and that's too many (and too late). May consider the oil heater route like some of the other suggestions. I have many of those in my terrestrial homes, they work great.

I've left mine on for days without problem, but the bulbs burned out on it and I had to disassemble it and the wood frame on my RV to replace them.
Get a cube heater if you want to run electric heat for more than overnight.

Great suggestions.
I ran ours for two weeks straight in November. Getting the propane electric heater for Christmas.

We run ours for literally weeks at a time 24/7. When it's below freezing the furnace still runs enough to keep the basement warm and pipes safe, but I think it takes some strain off the propane use.
Interesting comments on use of electric oil filled radiators and running those instead of fp. What makes that any safer?

We have the thermostat set on auto heat at 71 A/C at 78 and that's it. We do use the fireplace to take the chill off when needed. We use no other source of heat.

@Montana Man: exactly right. In fact it is safer than a free-standing portable heater. As poorly insulated as these trailers are, on cold nights the furnace needs all the help it can get. We turn the flame light down to “1” to save the bulb. If the park doesn’t meter the electricity, it is also a good way to save money.

fIREPLACE ON ALL NIGHT
We have a fireplace in the bedroom and one in the livingroom, but at night I use either the furnace or the heat pump depending on outdoor temperature. We find it heats the unit more evenly

If the fireplace is UL or equivalent approved it is safe to use as intended. That means it is well designed and safe to use as intended. If the there is a notice to use intermittently then it is not safe to use continuously. If there is no safety notice otherwise, then it is safe to use continuously.

Yes. We camped last month for a week of 20 degree nights. We left the fireplace on all night most of the nights and had no issues at all.We did not know at the time how to set a temperature on the fireplace. We actually left it on either low or high. Now that we've learned that there is indeed a thermostat, it will be even better next time it is needed.
