My wife wouldn't be without it.
We have had the Equater Advanced Ventless ( oh the humanity ) from Home depot in both our Montana and now in our Redwood. Both were self installs.
While at the Grand Canyon last year, I did have a motor go out but the warranty people were great and shipped me a motor to the campground. A few weeks later a check showed up for my labor because I did the repair myself.

The second unit is still running great! As with all of these small combo units, there is a learning curve. Do not over fill them, Adjust your drying time ( you'll figure that out with a few loads), make sure whatever tank it drains into is open, and they run fine. Put clothes in, go about your site seeing, nice clean clothes when you return.

I too have a W/D, my wife wouldn’t have it any other way. Our unit was plumbed for it from factory but I did the purchase and install myself. After much research we went with the stackable; heard too many bad things on the combos but the again opinions are like As……. Never mind, you get it. Some love the combo.

I actually did a YouTube video on my install you can check it out @retiredandrollin on YouTube. It’s pretty detailed and most like it except for one guy that said I speak too much; he’s probably right.

I agree vented is definitely the way to go and for the record I’m not supposed to touch ours either, but I do sometimes. Just to add to what i was saying. I stayed away from the idea of having one for two years. We have Yorkshire terriers and accidents happen. Not trying to sell the idea to anyone to get a washer and dryer in there camper but for us it was the right fit. I installed it myself and Camping World had the model I wanted on sale plus with a military discount. It was on our first camping trip after the install, we both agreed, it made the fifth wheel complete. Plus, my wife was very happy.

Love our combo washer dryer. Wouldn’t be without. We had washer and dryer in other fifth wheel and found that laundry took far less time to do of course, but for space the combo splendid is great for two of us.

What do you look for in a washer and dryer for the RV other than obvious - does it fit and do I have connections?

Just ideas running through my head right now.

thanks!
My wife preferred a dishwasher and so that is what we put in via dealer. No problems with it. 15 years of full timing and using campground facilities or in town for washing and drying. Bottom line: consider a dishwasher but ALWAYS go with wife's preference.

Different answer than what you’re looking for…

I do not have a washer/dryer, although the RV is plumbed for it/them. I honestly cannot see us ever installing them. My reasoning is primarily cost. A side by side set up costs around $1600.00. Campground laundries average about $3.00 a load, total, for wash and dry. (I’m taking into account that a lot of military campgrounds have free laundry.)
I can do two loads of laundry a week, at a campground, at the same time in 2 hours or less for $6.00.
At that rate, it would take 5 years to reach that $1600.00 initial purchase price.

Now if the next RV I purchase came with a washer and dryer, I wouldn’t say no.

Went for freezer instead

Since we full time in our Montana & are resident volunteers at State, Corps parks & National Wildlife Refuges, we put a front loading freezer in the washer dryer closet...Every Government park campground we have been in over the years has laundry facilities, so that's covered.

Hello,

We have separate washer and dryer units in our Montana. We bought them on Amazon for about $300 each. Had the dealer cut the dryer vent hole so that they are on the hook for any unnecessary damage. As for installation, it is simple. Hook up water lines, attach dryer hose and plug in the units. We bought L brackets from Home Depot to mount to the floor. Screw into bottom of machines and screw into the floor. Small units mean multiple laundry loads but still more convenient than using paid laundry machines.

Smile Washer/Dryer

Seems Wife and I are in the minority here.

We're on our 3rd 5th wheel. All have been wired and prepped for W/D and Generator. We do not Primitive Came so we do not need a generator. And in the Campgrounds, generators coming on at 3:00 AM really irritate other Campers. (Know you didn't ask about generators!)

W/D? We keep our 5th wheel fully stocked with duplicate clothes and ready to go, but, we never go out more than 2 weeks at a time - usually 7 - 10 days. Since we don't stay longer, we feel the W/D is just something else to break, overflow, need maintenance, etc.
BUT, that's just us! If we stayed out a month or longer at a time, we would
consider, however, even then we're not sure. Wife is on vacation also. And you see from other comments, seems wife is doing laundry every day when you have one.

Happy Camping!

My Monty is plumbed and vented for washer and dryer but would never buy one. We rarely boondock and our trips are 10-16 days and mostly in rv park with laundry facilities. We usually have a “laundry day” later than half way through the trip. We bring our camp chairs, a small cooler with drinks and maybe some snacks and make it as tolerable as possible. We can usually do two loads at the same time depending on how busy the laundromat is and same with dryers. If we did longer trips or full time we would have the washer dryer. Just depends on length of time you spend in the 5er. For me the expense Just doesn’t make sense.

I was going to mention the weight issue (250 lbs) until you posted that you have it permenantly parked. So that point is moot. Seriously though if you are not full timing in it then the value of on board W&D is questionable to say the least. YMMV as they say however. They are not inexpensive machines and they will certainly not stand up to regular washers and dryer in terms of durability and capacity for the money you will pay for them vs regular residential W&D. JMHO

BTW, we full time and do not have them in our rig. We spend roughly 40/mth at CG or other coin ops, comparable long term expense to buying the W&D and replacing them as you go. the hassle of doing laundry at coin op... MEH

That is a very good question that I would like the answer for as well. My 2023 3761FL had a washer and dryer in it when I purchased by the previous owner. They didn't have them stacked, but that is something that I'm definitely going to be doing. They take up the entire closet. I will need to purchase the kit to stack them. It will improve things and free up the other side of the closet for us. Has anyone done this themselves?

I installed the splendide washer and dryer combo myself at the time we didn't have the space for a separate washer and dryer, we had our combo for two 5th wheel and one motorhome we had them to transfer from one rv to another. I installed in our first one so without buying another washer and dryer I just had them to take it out and install it in the new one.

Now that we have been having a washer and dryer we would never be without and we are not fulltimer.

Yes we have one, the Splendide WD 2100XC. It is a vented combo unit. I purchased and installed it. We both love having it. We wanted something to keep us out of laundry matts, but not take all our closet space. The combo works good for us.

Winterizing is a fairly simple process.
I blow my lines out. I run the washer for a minute on the express cycle until only air comes out of the lines. Put a couple of cups of antifreeze in drum and run the drain / spin cycle for a minute or two. I then unhook the water lines and unplug it.

I bring my generator to power the WD and compressor. My storage does not provide power.
