Water filter/softner installed
I completed the installed a water filter/softner in the basement of our 3850. Now no more lifting this unit to set outside to use and then put back in the bay. It also eliminates one step in our set up routine.

Good looking install, but how do you recharge the softener with it that far in there?

Thanks. The angle the picture was taken make the filter/softner look deeper in the storage area than it is. I will disconnect it and do it on the outside. I will have to remove three small plastic containers to remove the unit. I made a small mod to the head of the unit after I had it installed. That gave me the practice to take it out. Both the input and output connectors are within arms reach. Not a difficult task.

Seems many places we go, we need a water hardner. In some CGs on the Gulf Coast the water is so soft you can't wash the soap off.

Tom. We have not stayed in the Gulf Coast but many places elsewhere west of the Mississippi our experience has been with hard water.
Thanks Dennis.

Looks good. I'll be installing a water filter next month. Do you use a pressure regulator at all with this setup? always seems when I have the filter outside the unit and use a regulated I have bad pressure inside.

Looks great George! This gives me some ideas on how to fix ours in place in the basement of our 3582. With that new filter and softener are you and Rosetta going to join us for the Central Plains Rally in Nebraska City this year? New campground and new tours to go on this year! Hope you can make it!

looks like the system from the RV water treatment guy at the fall rally. We purchased a system also. Good install.

Ed I use a regulator at the faucet. Have never had a problem.
Thanks Rondo. Sorry will not be able to make the Central Plans Rally this year. We will start our trip later than before and will still be taken in the sites.
Thanks Rich. It is the same filter system sold at the rally. This install makes it easier to handle.

Jay Bird: We just bought a water softener and I have a question for you. When do you know to recharge the softener? Do you recharge it based on time or can you tell by the softness of your water?
Thanks
