Duramax Diesel

Just curious if there's many Duramax's with more than 250,000. Mine is 245,000.

My 03 2500 had 265k on it when I traded it for a '14 3500 SRW LB.
and the '14 3500 had 100k when I traded it for the '19 3500 dually.

The 03 did not have a trouble free life! It got to where everytime we went on a trip something broke. DW finally said "This thing has got to go or I am done with travel!"
Two weeks later it was gone!

I'm exactly the opposite! Going for the low mileage winner!

We have a 2002 with only 105,000. It's led a charmed life for sure. Finally had injectors changed at 95,000. The only issue we've ever had with it...

To be clear, the truck was gone?

Yep you got got me beat. You put about a thousand less miles a year on your truck than I do. I have an 08 with 79000 on it but I’m catching up. I’ve put 150 miles on mine in the last 18 months.
I have a friend who has a Chevy truck with 1,010,000 miles on it with one engine rebuilt and it’s a gasoline truck.

I also have a 2006 Duramax and I have 287,000, I plan on putting a bunch more on it. They tell me the 2006 was the best year for GMC diesel

I was at a camper dealer early one morning before they opened and there was a delivery man delivering a new 5er he had a 2008 Duramax. The same truck i had, at the time of course I had ask a few questions he had 778,000 on his truck and no major work on it he also said some fellow workers had over a 1,000,000 with only minor repairs but Ford people were not as lucky.

Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel injection pump

I have a 140K on my 2011 Chevy Duramax. I am crossing my fingers because of the Bosch CP4 was installed in the Duramax for several years. Statistically, 7% of all Durmax's have/will suffer a $7-$10K engine repair because this item failed. The ones who have not had it fail, had it replaced with the previous version - CP3 costing $4K. The only thing that might save you is by adding a fuel additive with lubricant because of the low-sulphur diesel fuel.

I have 2012 3500HD dually with 129,000. I still have the CP4 pump. Low sulphur fuel does not help but water in the fuel is what kills the pump.
When the water in fuel warning comes on it's too late you already passed some water through the pump. I installed a Fass lift pump, Exergy system saver and use opti-lube. I also still have the factory fuel filter installed. So I have 3 fuel filters.

155,000 trouble free miles on my 07.5. My EGR and DPF got lost somewhere along the way, so that should help.
