Blackwater Blues !

I believe my Blackwater tank valve has pooped the bucket.
Question. Is it better to cut a hole in underbelly and gorilla tape it back in place .
Or try and unscrew section and lay it down to access valve.
Second question.
Would it be wise to replace with a electric valve that I have read comments on in the forum. The cable has broke not the valve as far as I know.
