Utah highway 128 NE of Moab

Any advice about this road. It seems much shorter when coming from the Grand Junction area than going west and using US 191.
Thanks.

As 128 is a "Scenic Byway". I wouldn't hesitate to drive it. But I have not done so (yet).

I've driven it many times. It is about 10 miles shorter but certainly will take longer than I-70 & hwy 191. Once you get past the Dewey bridge, it is a beautiful drive along the Colorado River with red cliffs towering on both sides; well worth the extra time.

A side trip for a few miles up the La Sal Loop Road towards Castle Valley is worth it if you have time; more of the same red cliffs & spires that Moab is famous for. Do not go past (south) Castle Valley and attempt the La Sal road with a trailer.

No problem pulling a trailer on 128, just take your time. There are several campgrounds along the river. I don't think it will be busy this time of year.
