Slide question

My camper is in winter mode and twice this winter I have found that 2 of my hydraulic slides have moved out about 6 inches with no operator action. I inspected the unit and retracted the slides. No issues moving them in. I am confused and concerned that this is happening without any action. Any comments/ideas appreciated.

I had a similar issue with mine last year, I found that one of the slide hydraulic cylinders was leaking past the seals. I resealed the hydraulic pump and the cylinder and have no further issues. I resealed the pump just because I had the system open and i figured it couldn't hurt.

Good luck!

When that happened to me, I had all 3 hydraulic cylinders rebuilt. No more slide creeping.

Its either air in the lines, or you have something leaking fluid and/or sucking air. Mine was doing it when my pump was leaking fluid. I got the pump rebuilt (all new seals/o-rings) and it stopped for a short time, and now its doing it again, except I know its not the pump, so my guess is its one, or all of the cylinders that need to be rebuilt now. I plan to tackle it this spring/summer after it warms up.

My ‘04 does that all winter. Usually with wild temperature swings. I always just pull them back in.
